DOE leaving me with £30 to live on Thanks CSA

February 12, 2012

I was paying maintenance direct to my ex wife for my 2 children when we 1st split, i then was contacted by the csa and told that all payments are now to be paid through them. so an assessment was started which took for ever, I was working 3 jobs to keep a roof over my head and to clear debts that i was left with. i lost my main job and due to a part time job i had could not claim any job seekers allowance or housing benefit.

I was only working part time and offered to pay what i could. when i did finally get a full time job i contacted the csa to tell them of my change of circumstances.

I was told that they needed to do an assessment again. i have been told that i am now over £2000 in arrears and was told that i had to pay over £300 per month. I wrote numerous letters explaining that i could not afford to pay that much as it would leave me nothing to live on. the csa did not seem to care and a direction of earnings order was taken out against me and £320 was taken from my wages. after paying my rent, council tax, fuel, heating, electric, and any other bills i have i am now expected to live on £70 per month.

CSA claimed I was aggressive on the phone

I have been applying for maintenance for the last 11 years.  My ex partner has a good life style, brand new car, 50″ televisons in at least two rooms, apple lap top, renovated his house, goes to Florida for his holiday yet the CSA in 2005 assessed that he did not earn enough to support his daughter.  He is a self-employed electrian and his lifestyle does not reflect this he spends a fortune on his other two children and my child has been given nothing.  It was assessed in 2005 that he did not earn enough to support his daughter and if he had paid maintenance I would have owed him £2000.00 are they having a laugh?

I re-applied in 2011 because of the changes in the CSA but nothing has changed they say one minute they are going to arrest him for ignoring Read more

CSA deductions from JSA

Whilst together, my ex tried to get a loan to pay off some debts she had with catalogues and due to her spending we also had rent arrears and some utility arrears. She was unable to due to bad credit history and so Welcome Finance offered it to me and got my ex to co-sign. Some months later, and after years of dictating and manipulation, I finally couldn’t take any more and my ex agreed the relationship was coming to an end, we planned ahead and decided if it was over then we would remain living together for our three children’s benefit, but not as a couple. We spoke of finances, and though the loan was mostly for her, I offered to pay half. We finally split a few months later and we continued living together for about a year. She tried to reconcile a few times but I was clear it was over. All was going okay until December 2007.

She asked me to stay at a friends house for a couple of nights as she was finding it hard. I was then asked to return Christmas Eve as she wanted me there for the children. I did of course, as I wanted to be with my kids at Christmas. Then came the day after Boxing Day and she had invited her Read more

Now I understand why men climb buildings dressed as Batman!!!

I still live and own the home where my Son was born.

I satisfy all the criteria stated on the government website for for being awarded Child Benefit (Doctors registered at my home address, etc.) but I do not get the Child benefit.

As my Ex was able to gain the child benefit when she left home after her Affair, this then gave her the opportunity to claim on my Read more

I recently stepped down from my job because of it all, i do see my daughter regularly which is great, me ex knows i work hard and with the csa help she earns from it! for years know ive lived like this never being able to run my own home, had to Read more

I am treated like a cash machine

My son lives with me 50% of the year, and I have to pay maintenance, so now I cannot afford to look after my son needs.

When I got divorced we agreed that my son would live with me 3 nights per week, which meant 4 full days per week. I pay for all my sons needs i.e. his clothes and sporting activities and so on. I get no benefits or financial help towards his care but his mother gets all the financial support that she needs. She works full time and has a live-in Read more

CSA are a waste of time and effort

February 8, 2012

For 7 years I have tried to make the father of my children stand up to his responsibilities through the CSA and every time the CSA welcome his change of circumstances or resignation from jobs and cut my children off!! Attachment of earnings orders have been put in place and removed without reason, I am promised payments that never materialise and the man continues to get away with not paying for his children’s up keep!! I have had only 2 half decent payments in 7 years and no explanation as to why!

I am sick of the false promises and lies spoken by the CSA and wonder what the hell they do all day, as they certainly havn’t helped me at all in the 7years I’ve been asking for it! I have found the whole experience a complete and utter joke and am furious that yet again my ex is allowed to get away with providing for his children and I havn’t a clue where my claim is up to and nor does any of your staff! No body contacts me even though it’s always promised and I have had no correspondence from the CSA in all this time, instead I have to write letters of complaint and make pointless phone calls to no avail!!! Child support agency????

You have not once supported my children only their irrisponsible father it seems!! What an absolute waste of my own time and effort and what and absolute joke this so called service is!!

£27,000 for two children for a 3 year period

February 7, 2012

In around 2002/03 I was contacted by the CSA to say that I owed £27,000 for child maintenance between Jan 1999 – Feb 2003. I am not a high wage earner and could not possibly afford such a high sum. In August 2004 they removed all funds from my savings account which I had as a little nest egg for my children. Despite phoning them on regular occasions throughout this period I never received any call backs or any explanation as to why I owed this amount. Finally, in 2008, after a month in prison, an Appeal Tribunal heard my case and Read more
