Over payments to the CSA

February 16, 2012

I am a father, have a 15 year old child (son) though his mum has full custody of him since he was born. I see him one evening a week and have him stay over from every other week end. In between I take him swim occationally.

My csa payments are regular by directdebit to the csa.

My concern are two fold.

a)Since july 2010 I made a request to update and reasses my monthly payments. Since then to present date I have made several phone calls, each time requesting hard copy of our conversation, each time I have had nothing sent to me. Each time they say Read more

CSA refunded me after I forced them to review my case

February 15, 2012

I was making payments to the CSA for £ 315 for 1 child from 1998 till 2004/5. In 2004/5 after intervention from my MP I managed to force the CSA to review my case at which point they refunded me over payments of £3500 and reduced my payments to £58 a month. I continued to make monthly payments until I contacted the CSA in Feb 2011 when the child I had been paying for turned 19 years old. I asked them if my payments would stop and was informed that a final review of my case would take place and the case should be closed. 2 months later I received notification through my employer (I am in the forces) that the CSA would now be collecting £ 315 a month. As you can imagine I was some what confused to hear this and contacted the CSA.

I was informed by an operator that I had an outstanding dept of £20,000. When I enquired where this dept had come from it was explained to me that there was no evidence of me making payments prior to 2004. I explained that I had Read more

Fictious arrears and no answer

February 15, 2012

I have had dealings with the CSA for 7 years now and it seems to rear its ugly head every 18 months to 2 years, stating I am in ARREARS.Payments are deducted every 4 weeks (ATE) from my wages. It is then sent via payrolls to another office and then another office in Newcastle and then to my ex wife (one month in arrears). I had a schedule dated 21/11/11 showing payments until Oct 2012 at £212.00 every 4 weeks (NO ARREARS), six weeks later the new schedule dated 30/01/12 stating I am some £840.00 in arrears (4 missing payments by my reckoning).

They cant tell me over the phone where the arrears have accrued, I have to write in and ask for my details to be sent to me (taking up to 28 days to reply) by then the £212.00 will have increased to Read more

3 years of hell

February 14, 2012

I contacted the CSA thinking that they would be able to help me get my son some money from his father….big mistake! In the almost 3 years since I started the farce, I have spent more in phone calls then I have ever received from the CSA. I have never had a single letter from them, and only started getting payments in the last year. The wrong payments! Of the £80 per month he is supposed to pay, my son ends up with £27! His father is in arrears, but no one knows how much, or why he doesn’t recieve the right amount. I ring them every week to try and find out some information, since they never write to me, but everytime I ring, I get told something different, and am often spoken to so rudely that I get off the phone shaking and crying.

I have tried emailing, but they never reply, or even acknowledge me. I have been told that my caseworker would ring me so many times and have never had a call back, to the point where I’m beginning to doubt his existance!

Many times when I have rung, I have even asked them to listen back the calls they apparently record, just so someone else can hear all the different stories I’m being told, but they seem so disinterested, I feel like I’m fighting an uphill battle.

CSA keeps making up arrears

February 14, 2012

I have been contacted again by the Baw Bags and told I need to pay arrears of £1700 approx. I have shared care of my kids. The ex lied saying I did not see them since 2008, hence recalculation of wages and hence arrears. Despite providing court order and calendar done throught lawyers due to ex inability to cooperate with court order the Tribunal recently still went in her faivour, which i will appeal using a lawyer this time, at great expense.

The Baw Bags wanted £133 per week or do DOA 40 per cent of wages. Last night the kind lady said she will take £260 per month until arrears are paid, how kind of the Scum Bags to leave me without any money and not be able propaly support my children when in my care, when their mother is lives in a £250.000 house and very well of, but has been sending my sons to my house as thought they are from some poverty striken area, then on top of paying her to live a fantastic lifestlye I have got to go out and buy my sons shoes etc and the advice from the Scum Bags, you shouldnt do it then, well thanks to them i wont even be in a position to feed them properly, all because the ex has the child benefit book she is the able to make the claim against me. how F***inf riduclious is that, so if my kids stay with me 99 per cent of the time, I would still have to pay her and qaulify for a reduction, how F***ing kind of them.

Ex stopped payments

February 13, 2012

Please help me!! i am a mother of 3 and finding it very hard getting regular money from the father of my children.

Again the CSA rang me yesterday to tell me my payments would stop the second time in 12 months. I am at my wits end, the CSA don’t appear to want to help at all and just say it will take 3-4 months to recalulate/resolve. i understand there are procedures/policy that they work to but how do they expect me to feed the children and keep them warm well their “daddy” doesn’t pay for 3/4 months but then can justify giving the children contract phones, gym members expensive holidays abroad.

I have been down their complaints procedure 12 months ago and they passed me from pillar to post not resolving anything and now i am back here again being told that payments will stop.

How is this fair?

How is a mother expected to feed her children? please help i am desparate. I am unable to afford a legal advice so will not leave my number

Ex not paying to support our daughter

February 13, 2012

I was with my ex for 9 years, we have been split up for almost 8 and out daughter is 9 in march. It has only ever been a verbal argreement that he pays £40 per week which he usually does pay most of the time untill a few months ago.

He has never been the best dad in the world, always letting our daughter down but being there for his other kids but my daughter has always been happy with it being me & her.

She has now been noticing alot that she gets pushed to one side, gets let down all the time and its not on. He has money for himself and others just not my daughter. Is there any thing i can do?

He is self employed but just lately gone on the sick stating “STRESS” ??

My wife pays CSA to her ex

February 13, 2012

My step son has recently moved out and gone to live with his father. He is 14 and decided that our rules are too strict and he wants an easy life. My wifes ex pays her £80 a month through the CSA. But now that he has moved out, she said she will tell the CSA and, as she works part time as a care worker, they can then get her to pay her ex to have him. But my question is this, Will the CSA also take into account my wage, or will they only take into account my wifes wage as she is the parent of the boy in question?

CSA keeps moving my money and will not pay me

February 13, 2012

My 14 year old doaughter moved in with me full time from end of september last year due to a breakdown in her already unstable relationship with her mother. I informed the CSA as soon as this happened but was told that the £130 a month CS payment I was making to her mother would be stopped until her mother gave confirmation of these change in my daughter’s living arrangements. Her mother denied that the arrangement of daughter living with me was permanent despite the fact that we had changes schools so that my daughter could go to the school local to my house. I was told by the CSA that they would allow 12 weeks to see if things changed and then would reimburse the payments I had Read more

Empty Promises from the CSA

February 13, 2012

My ex husband walked out on me in March 2006. My son was still resident with me & remained so for quite some time. During this time W (my ex) lied to the CSA about his income (he is self employed) and I only received a pittance in maintenance and most of the time nothing. I took my case to a tribunal which found in my favour and adjusted the figures according to their calculations.

He was informed he had to pay an ammount in arrears and then a much highter amount going forward. I was so relieved as had been struggling to make ends meet and with out help from my family and a very patient & long suffering landlord, I (and my son) would have gone under completely and ended up homeless. My celebration was Read more
