I’ve overpaid for nearly a year and nothing has been done about it!

I was happily paying my child maintenance for my son for years. I was told he had left school and working. I contacted the CMS (i paid direct to HER through them) they investigated and said my case should have closed in Aug 2017. Apparently they dont do checks they rely on honesty of the receiving parent. They wrote to her and called her. She made no contact back.

So in essence ive overpaid for 10 months to a total of approx £3200. They say they will write to her and say she has to pay it back but if she doesnt reply/refuses they dont do anything its down to me to take her to court. I had no issue paying for my son even though i knew full well he would see none of it it would go on her ‘habits’ Where do i stand. I have struggled for years financially so all my bills are paid, to find out i could have been better off the last year almost. Are CMS liable? as far as im concerned if they did their checks they would have known. Considering they tell me every year how much i earn it should be down to them to check HER too.

Ex lies in court and CSA pays wrong person but I am still left to pay!

Texas Child Support sent my payments to wrong person and made me pay that money back with interest. My son is 18 and will turn 19 in October. My son will be 19 this year and I have concerns about possible fraud by his mother but Texas laws are always on mothers side. A perfect example she made false claims about my son having Cerebral Palsy in court to try and get indefinite child support and even when records showed proof she was lying none was brought up in trial and because she dragged court once again I have back child support.

Is there somewhere I can file a complaint about this? I know child support has immunity but they make an error they have to fix it. Does anyone know of any law firm or a fathers right lawyer who can help? His mother has warrants and has no stability for my son. Has had few problems with the law in Texas and yet all favors go to her. I have records and documents to provide proof.

CSA said I owed nothing and 20 years later I get hit with massive bill

The CSA (or whoever they are now), have an attachment of earnings to my employer of £115 per week. They tell me I owe an extremely large amount of money to them. The child in question is 22 years old and I have never had sight of her. The last correspondence I had with the CSA was back in the late 90s whereby they wrote to me and said I owed nothing. How can I now owe this large amount? I have no records of what has been paid out or why as I know the mother in question has always worked and so does her partner who resides at the same address. My partner of 17 years has recently suffered a brain haemorrhage and may not be able to work again. I therefore need to support both her and myself but cannot do with such a weekly amount being taken directly from my wages. Where is the fairness in this so called law?
