CSA are a disgrace
Now I understand why men climb buildings dressed as Batman!!!
I still live and own the home where my Son was born.
I satisfy all the criteria stated on the government website for for being awarded Child Benefit (Doctors registered at my home address, etc.) but I do not get the Child benefit.
As my Ex was able to gain the child benefit when she left home after her Affair, this then gave her the opportunity to claim on my salary via the CSA. Given that she already gets the Child Benefit and I care for my Son 50/50, this is a disgrace!
I contested this with the CSA who wrote back and said they’d look into it. 3 months later they came back with the answer….. ” Although you satisfy the criteria as the resident parent, we are still going to leave benefits with the mother”
I contested again and it went to a decision maker who came back with the same answer.
I contested it again and it is now going in front of a court hearing.
To the letter of the law, I satisfy the criteria,so why is it so hard….. Oh yes… It’s because I am a man.
All I want to do is retain the Child Benefit so that I can then send my Ex half of the money every month and as we have 50/50 care, we then both leave each others earning alone!!!
I welcome your comments.

In your case my friend, its greed on your exes part. What have the child benefit agency said to you if you have satisfied the criteria? Have you seen your mp?
Hi,
The CSA deal with child maintenance and have no jurisdiction over which parent is awarded or receives child benefit.
You would need to make an application for child benefit at the appropriate office.
Is you case calculated on old (before 03/03/03) OR new (on/after 03/03/03) rules?

This is why this system is so divisive.
The CSA automatically think that the mother receives the child benefit and has care of the child/children.
I took me two years to get any money from the NRP in my case, because the CSA sided with her, and did’nt want a man to be in receipt of child support, even though I was the one claiming the child benefit.
I think the point that CSA_Hell Dad is trying to make, is that if he is in receipt of child benefit, then it is because the child resides with him, and that should suggest or prove that the mother should be paying maintenance as an NRP!
