Does the CSA look at my total net, including expenses?

October 8, 2013

Contracting and csa question:

Hi, I’m a contractor I use an umbrella company since thought it’d be more easier, transparent to the csa.

But… No I realise I have expenses travel, accomadation when away from home and so on. So I get paid my salary (taxable NI etc) then my expenses added on top.

My question is do csa look at my total net ( incl expenses?) or do I just tell them my salary less tax and NI?

Many thanks in advance for any help here

Will will look at your total net if expenses are included they will take this as income. If your using an umbrella company why are you going through csa ?? Just pay direct to pwc. If csa are on your back just change umbrella company but for love of god stay of paye or they have ya
It’s a shame the csa don’t look at the pwc income. They only ever go of nrp income when infact kids have 2 parents not just one. Maybe David Cameron should have a coffee. Sit down on his tax paid leather chair and plug his brain in
Everything about the csa contradicts eu human rights law. Anyway rant over and good luck
