July 22, 2010

Due to infomation recived by the csa from my ex-wife, after 28 yrs i find out my daughter is not mine, and from being hammered by the csa and paying maintenace all that time, a dna test has been done by the csa.

They have told me i’m owed nearly £24,000!

I was told in june i would be paid back within 15 to 15 days, still nothing. When i call they cannot or will not tell me anything. Any advice anyone??

I work for the CSA and I had someone’s house seized

July 22, 2010

This was added as a comment to this post, but we just had to put it on the website as a post in its own right. Please feel free to let us, and Susan (who works for the CSA), know what you think in the comments below – CSAhell.com staff

I happen to work for the CSA.

Flint – have you ever heard of the saying that it is better to keep your mouth shut and have the world think you are an idiot than to open it and confirm everybody’s suspicions?

As regards working without paying – we will catch up with you in the end. And then you will have to pay. Before you say that debts can’t be enforced after 6 years – wrong – this debt will go to your estate once you die.

House seizures are a reality now – not a myth. I know that because I made a referral for one which was taken.

As for self employed directors who claim minimum wage PAYE and then pay themselves in dividends to avoid paying maintenance – you will have a rather nasty shock when there is a massive bill sent your way following a variation or departure for dividend income and/or lifestyle inconsistencies.

My best result so far? A gentleman who claimed he earned not a penny but paperwork summoned from his accountant including his tax return showed he earned over £50,000 a year. What happened to him? He’s now got a criminal record.

The fact is that we attempt to be fair, but if there is deliberate avoidance then there is every reason for hardball treatment.

So, flint, be ready for that knock on the door from the bailiffs.

Can I challenge arrears set by the CSA?

July 22, 2010

I was reassed in March of this year. A new assessment was calculated and back dated to the March. I contested this new amount, but to no avail. Since the new amount was calculated the CSA have failed to take the new amount. My payments are made by Direct Debit, so the only way that this can change is by the CSA changing the Direct Debit. I am concerned that they have not changed it, so that i accrue arreas. Even though i cannot change the Direct Debit. Am also worried that they will hold me accountable for their mistake and incompetance.

Do i have any recourse when they eventually come knocking for these arrears?

My experiences with the CSA

July 21, 2010

In a previous life, I was a manager within the Benefits Agency (now known as the Jobcentre Plus) and for a period of a couple of years, I was a Visiting Officer. When a customer made a new claim to benefit, I would visit them at home to go through their claim with them and make sure that they had all of the necessary documentation to support it. Some of these visits entailed preliminary Child Support Agency interviews. I would give some CSA advice where I could and as you may imagine, I heard plenty of novel reasons why some mothers were unable or unwilling to divulge any information.

However, some of the following excuses, received by the Office of Child Support in Detroit, are new one me:

“Regarding the identity of the father of my twins, Makeeshia was fathered by Maclearndon McKinley. I am unsure as to the identity of the father of Marlinda, but I believe that she was conceived on the same night.”

“I am unsure, as to the identity of the father of my child as I was being sick out of a window when taken unexpectedly from behind. I can provide you with a list of names of men that I think were at the party if this helps.”

“I do not know the name of the father of my little girl. She was conceived at a party at 3600 East Grand Boulevard where I had sex with a man I met that night. I do remember that the sex was so good that I fainted. If you do manage to track down the father, can you please send me his phone number? Thanks.”

“I don’t know the identity of the father of my daughter. He drives a BMW that now has a hole made by my stiletto in one of the door panels. Perhaps you can contact BMW service stations in this area and see if he’s had it replaced.”

“I have never had sex with a man. I am still a Virginian. I am awaiting a letter from the Pope confirming that my son’s conception was ejaculate and that he is the Saver risen again.”

“I do not know who the father of my child was as they all look the same to me.”

For the record, the best excuse I ever heard whilst interviewing a customer was:

“I don’t know who the father is; he was wearing a crash helmet at the time.”

CSA has turned me off work forever

July 21, 2010

I am the supposed father of a 7 yr old girl. There is no physical or written evidence to proove either way.

I’m currently looking st a £3,600 pound debt. I’m unemployed and spent 7 months of last year abroad. I informed the csa i was leaving the country in jan. I had a phone call jan 26 2009 saying account closed, only to find out 7 months later they were still billing me.

Yet here’s the bit im still arguing to date, how does £2,400 in jan 20009 jump to £3,600 at 15 pound a week ? csa have ruined my life and turned me off work forever. I pay £5 pound a week on jsa yet if i go back to work i get to live off 90 pound a week because that’s what the csa reckons i can live off.

CSA makes another mistake

July 20, 2010

Arrive at work this morning and find out the cleaver people at the CSA have issued a wage deduction order. They did the assesment on the 12-07-2010 and sent out the new figures plus a attachment order. Hmmm well so much for having agreements in place. As I have being paying every month for the last 2 months via standing order an agreed amount plus extra to cover any shortfalls.

If the UK Gov needs to do any budget cust why don’t they start with the CSA. Don’t get me wrong I am all for paying. To send a wage attachment order when I have not missed a payment and have pro activly gone out of my way to make payment and have gone out of my way to chase them up. Something very wrong with this picture.

CSA says children in Plymouth owed £25million

July 20, 2010

Absent parents around Plymouth who have failed to keep up with child support payments now owe a whopping £25million. Figures published by the Child Support Agency show that £15.2 million of this is owed by non-resident parents living in the city’s two constituencies.

Parents in South East Cornwall owe £5.9million, whilst those in South West Devon owe £3.7million.

CMEC, the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission, missed the targets set for collection of money by £23 million in 2009, driving the total amount owned by absent parents across the UK to an astonishing £3.8 billion.

However, CMEC has said that the debt fell by an average £5million per month leading up to March, with 2009 seeing 114,400 brand new enforcements alone.

Fiona Weir, the chief executive of Gingerbread, the lone parent charity, says that children are being excluded from crucial funds as the Government concentrates on recovering debts. Speaking to local newspaper The Herald, she said:

“Child maintenance is vital for children in separated families.”

“We know from single parents that this is much-needed Read more

Fathers should man up and take responsibility

July 19, 2010

Ok… here is a question for you guys (baby daddies)… how much should the father of the child actually pay? Because, lets be honest here… it takes two to create that child and I am pretty sure the mother of the child should not have to be the only one taking on the whole responsibility?

In all honesty, I do believe both parties should have equal rights… BUT… both sides must take on the responsiblity equally too. Having a child is far from cheap.

Fathers should have more rights, but they also SHOULD man up and be bit more realistic about this whole thing. IF the baby mother is a moocher, then fair enough, you have all the rights to complain… IF, however, you are a whining little biatch then shaddup.

As they say…don’t want .be a daddy, be wise and condomise, foolz.

My daughter adopted but still CSA want me to pay

July 19, 2010

Whilst married my ex-wife and I moved about 60 miles away. When we split up I moved back yo be near my parents. It took me a while to find a new job.

In the meantime my ex wife contacted my parents (she refused to speak to me) and stated that her new partner wanted to adopt my daughter. I took a month or so to think about it, a lot of soul-searching and definitely not a decision I made lightly but agreed and signed the relevant forms, returned them to my parents to forward them to her. I heard no more from the CSA.

In late 2007 my father died, 3 months later my mother died. My ex and my daughter turned up to my father’s funeral and I phoned my daughter when my mother died but could get no answer to calls emails or texts(after renewing contact at the funeral). They did not come to my mother’s funeral but I immediately received a letter from the CSA. The letter stated that I owed £11,000 in arrears and they had made a new assessment of £95 per week. Obviously I phoned them straight away and explained my Read more

CSA payments have stopped and they dont know why

July 18, 2010

I have a 17 month old son and his father has been in receipt of benefit since august 2009.

In Oct 09 I had to get the CSA to take £5 per week out of his benefit money for my son and 3 other children my ex has from a previous relationship. Payments only started in December and i have had payments of £2.50 paid fortnightly until May 26th this year.

I contacted the CSA to see why i wasnt recieving the money and they said to call back in 2-3 weeks as they’re having problems with the systems. THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SYSTEMS!

I have now got so fed up with the incompetent morons at the csa that ive now complained twice in the last 3 weeks and my case is now apparently with a complaints case worker. They cannot tell me WHY the payments have Read more
