Nowhere to turn except to pay the CSA

13 years
Sporadic payments
Debt on the account of £40,410.20

My children will be 66 & 68 years old by the time their child maintenance is fully paid!

I had a meeting booked with Helen Goodman on Wednesday this week, her ministerial off cancelled the meeting at 6.00pm the night before. I believe we should ALL be requesting meetings via our MP for a meeting with Helen Goodman the minister for the CSA before the general election, and should you want to quote my name and my MP’s name (James Clappison) then please do.

The New TV advert and leaflet drop to every home CM Options – Even they said they can’t help

Just to get this into perspective I have a debt of £40,410.20 (Approximately it will be more now!) plus future debt once my children leave full time education at 19 years old of another £24,891.76 totaling £65,302.00, this is being cleared through enforcement via two court orders at £100p/m plus another £100 via the bailiff but this is sporadically and unreliable. This will take 50¼ years to clear, my children will be 66 and 68 years old I will be 90, their father will be 95 years old by the time this is cleared (We will probably both be dead before that is fully paid) and apparently this is acceptable! NOT ONE POLITICAL PARTY WANTS TO ADDRESS THIS yet wants me back in the work environment because the law says I have too. The law also states that absent parents should pay for their children but we have no law in place to make an absent parent pay the wording they use for this is and i quote ‘Legislation does not allow us (THE CSA) to enforce regular maintenance…sad!
ly that is a fact and I have that in writing from the CSA

Help and expose this agency and the NEW AGENCY, it is hemorrhaging tax payer’s money

Tower block of commons and Famous rich and homeless had Tim Loughton, Mark Oaten and Emma Parker Bowles living with single mothers and this VITAL aspect in order to return to the work environment or recouping tax payer’s money back for benefit given was not addressed once in either of these programmes.

  1. Hi Lisa,

Generally if the agency have jurisdiction and depending on the NRP’s circumstances, they can peruse regular maintenance and/or arrears – more recently this also includes the use of Detachment Orders direct from a deposit taker.

Obviously, there will be more details to your case and without knowing the facts, it is impossible to give specific information/advice.

The agency have been criticised a number of occasions in the past, for allowing debts to paid off over ridiculously lengthy periods – hence the 2 year debt steer that they now make every effort apply.

If any part of the arrears have accumulated due to a penalty assessment being in place, this could be converted into a proper assessment and may reduce the amount of arrears owed.

Do you have your Data Protection File?

  2. i have my 4 reams of date protection file which makes a very dull read lol

the difficulty is he is self emplyed so you have to stupidly rely on him giving his ‘true’ tax returns and self assessment, but the ruling under th departure hearing went in my favour 3 times. for example you cant confess a 14,000 salary with a 200,000 property straight away those two figures don’t add up.

we also have a problem of lack lustre approach within the court system when recouping debt and the fact that he has offered to pay an amount they have to accept that, i accept they should be looking into his earnings under closed scrutiny as they would when you have a lifestyle departure hearing but they don’t you have to hope that you have someone actually doing there job

the worrying thing is they have no legislation in place to make an absent pay maintenance, a double edge sword unfortunately.
