Lost my job and ex set CSA on me
My daughter is 18+ i had a private agreement with ex to pay 200 a month but after losing my job, i stopped paying, i asked her to agree to reduce but she refused. She set CSA on me, and I have been avoiding them, today I got letter (unregistered) saying my commitment is 40 ppw and starts 31\10 I have a small pension which I kept in full, she got the house including contents. How have they reached this figure, also in the letter it goes on about direct debit enclosed, and return it in pre paid letter provided, but these 2 items are not included.
Is it a ruse to get me to ring, then I am “Got”
My daughter is 19 in Aug, and goes to college 3 days (a few hours a week) and works part time.

Hi gary howarth,
If you are in receipt of JSA etc and have no shared care you would pay a flat rate of £5 per week.
The amount that the agency have calculated may be inflated, in which case the arrears will also be.
If you have received a D/D mandate then I assume they think your working, in which case they may have contacted your employer to gain your income.
You don’t need to ring them to get ‘got’.
If the agency have sent correspondence to your address, the agency have established a start date for your case.
