Help in dealing with the CSA

December 10, 2009

I have always been up front with the CSA and have always paid my way from 1998. In the early years i was paying over £300 per month, not a problem as single and willing to pay my way.

Some 18 months i was asked to be assesed which i duly obliged. My assesment came out at £50.00 per week, this under the old rules. I apealed as could not understand how i could go from £0.00 to £50.00.

My appeal took over a year to go through i the meantime i was assesed again and this came out as £0.00 !! at this point my ex asked for my case to be closed. However i was still awaiting for the appeal results for the £50.00 per week. My appeal also came backat £0.00 to which was owed £500.00 from the CSA.

In the meantime my ex had put in another appilcation for maintenance in march this year, despite closing my case in nov 08. Once my appeal results came back as £0.00 a few months ago the CSA then contacted me to assess me under the NEW rules which have now come back as £71.00 per week!!

How can anybody with 3 young children – 1 new born suddenly find £71.00 per week?

Once your case has been closed are they aloud to re-open or put in a new application?

Sounds to me like she has done this knowing i will be placed on the new rules and i will be stung no matter what my houses costs are?

Any comments please?
