Going to the press about the CSA

A libility order has been applied for but the CSA have changed the amount 3 times in four court hearings and at no time have i been given a written explanation. They have failed to administer a change of circumstances where they received written notice immediately and failed to allow me housing costs of which they were advised.

Those two errors alone make a difference of 5 and a half thousand pounds!!! They also refuse my appeal, although they do this on the telephone as they will not put this in writing. My only option is I feel to go to the press.

I would suggest we form a data bank of all cases where the CSA are failing and advise the press that they are invited to be the initiators of brining this glaring waste of public money to full public attention.

  1. I would be interested in this as Im still owed money as the Criminal Compliance Unit proved my ex has lied about his earnings but they wont be anything about it, even though this is fraud as he lied to the Inland Revenue also!

I got advance payment few years back due to the errors made, Watchdog going to film and a Solicitor to sue!

  2. Hi kevin oaten,

Have you applied for your Data Protection File? – if not, click on my user name, there is a template letter in the download section. be aware the agency fee for such is £10, do not send cash or cheque. Postal orders should be made payable to; CSA.

You need to establish what has been happening with your case.
Hopefully you will locate a copy of your letter informing the agency of your CofC – in which case you can press for the decision to be actioned.

  3. Hi Kevin Oaten

I agree that the CSA waste money. However, if the absent parent paid maintenance to support their child (children) there would be no need for the CSA to impose a liaility order. It’s all well and good blaming the CSA , but at the end of the day it is the duty of both parents to provide support for their children, and if one parent hasn’t been contributing then they deserve to get clobbered!
