CSA want my husband’s disability pay!

My husband has to pay the CSA £230 per month and has done for several years now. I have no problem with my husband’s income to be taken for assesment, what i think is completely unreasonable is that our yougest son has got a serious illness and receives DLA. Due to the DLA our tax credit have increased and the CSA want to take this into account as my husbands income even though its paid to me. It is so unfair to take money away from a sick and disabled child to give to a fit and healthy child, who already receives his share of tax credits. Sick and disabled children should be protected from this. Its bad enough that they take money away from one child to give to another but to target disabled kids as an extra source of revenue is unforgivable.

The whole system stinks. Last year we had imaginary arrears and after many phone calls and the usual run-around we were re-assesed and because they managed to mess that up and took too long we were compensated (only £50 but hey) and given an apology.

We also pay by standing order which originally they refused until i checked the bank and there were 7 different D/D set up for different amounts. I rang the CSA told them they were incompetant and they agreed for us to pay by S/O.

Im happy to provide the account No and sort code they use so others can pay this way. With internet banking its easy. The CSA just like you to pay by D/D so they can take whatever amount they want.

I’ve tried to contact my MP who has not even bothered to reply, i have how ever complained to the DWP in charge of the CSA and they are looking into my complaint. Im not hopeful but it makes me feel better.
