Will my wife’s earnings affect my calculations?
Hi guys,
So the usual story. I have been paying maintenance for my daughter since i split from my ex. I have remarried, have a son and another on the way. I have a Ltd company and had a period of no contracts for 10 weeks recently.
Kept paying the agreed amount from savings and selling my car but ran out of money and could keep up the payment. Now she has threatened with the CSA.
I have no problem paying if my daughter sees the benefit.
My wife is an employee of my company and we are now getting back on our feet but i am getting conflicting responses from the CSA advisors as to whether my wife’s earnings come into any calculations, can you help?
Any help is much appreciated.
Murray

No they can’t take hers into consideration it’s nothing to do with her and yours and your exs child isn’t her responsibility ,I will tell you now thou that once u have a child with your new partner any child tax credit u both get for that child will be classed as your earnings and they will take some of it.. Very wrong but that’s the csa for u
Please may spread the word and please let’s try setup a REAL COLLECTIVE RESPONSE to this mess.

Who’s in?
its depend on the year the case was open
CSA want help her as u run ur own business they can not get a reg payment out ur wag as u wnat alway have the some
Csa don’t take tax credits into account as I’ve just found out
Read what has been written properly, he has said a Limited Company, therefore he will be on P.A.Y.E. so no problem assessing his liability, although it will most probably be incorrect
I am on p.a.y.e and my wife is also through the company. She’s not a share holder but we are considering it. It’s also a new company only 9 months old.
Kevin when did u find that out as they taking mine for my husbands children 🙁 thanks in advance 🙂
yh but CSA want help her not now it take to long for paper work with them closing down next year they want even bother
If you run as a ltd company, you should really be receiving payslips even if you’re on your own, Providing these even if they say 0 hours worked is still evidence. the CSA can only take a percentage of your income, for 1 child its 15% of nothing
sorry accidently sent that message, as I was saying, 15% of nothing is nothing…
Now your ex-wife’s income is not taken into account, the bad part of the law is that “both parents have to provide for the child”. while this is actually fair, it’s bad because it’s so broad…
@kevin Hogg. They do take yout child tax credit into account. My husband and I recently had our 2nd child together. We informed CSA and now they take an extra£15 a week off him because my child tax credit gone up. That is our only change of circumstances. It doesn’t matter that its in my name n goes in my account they clasd it has his money. Feckin CSA robbing money from 1child to give it to another. My advice to the poster DO NOT TELL CSA ABOUT YOUR NEW BABY WHEN HE/SHE ARRIVES they will tack their child tax credit off you for your other child
lol @ellie sellars
Maybe on the statutory maintenance (or what you guys call CS3) they get that instant access to child tax credits… cs2 cases wont know you have tax credits unless you mention it, they’ll know, but can’t use it..
