This is no trick. He’s probably as sick as the rest of us of people who seem to think children are a ‘cash cow’ . A relationship with both parents would benefit the children so much more than being used to extract money from one parent by another. Hopefully he also knows if he puts as much as he can into his pension and just brings home the minimum he can manage to ‘exist’ on this will also reduce what you can claim.
