Will CSA payments reduce if a child moves in with me that is not under the CSA?
When I get married later this year, my wife to be will be moving in with me along with her 11 year old daughter who I will be financially looking after as her new dad. At the moment all I get out of the CSA is that ” a child is only 5% of your income and there is no change in payments unless your status changes by 10%” I did argue that I had two children at 20% and they added another at 5% and this was not a 10% change but hey said the rules are not the same?

carl:- Best wait until the child is in your household then give details so they can run it through the system and see if it changes the maintenance required by more or less than 10%.
Then at least you will get a letter showing figures used.
Unlikely anybody can see what the outcome will be without elaborate calculations and knowing all your circumstances.
are you on old rules or new rules?
could ask for a variation based on the change in your circumstances might then reduce your payments?? or they may say that they don’t take your new wifes income into account when working out your maintenance so they cant take into account her children when working it out. Either was doesn’t hurt to try
