Why do our requirements mean nothing to CSA?

Csa are demanding 25% of my boyfriends wages he has parental responsibility for my little girl and we have a baby due in April 2015 who will be born with a rare brain disorder called schizencephaly.

Apparently the fact we will need to be able to put fuel in the car to get the care needed for new Baby, and for him to work means nothing.

We would be left after rent and council tax and water and gas and electricity with about 160 to pay for everything else God forbid something breaks or my children need clothes or uniforms!!!!

  1. Hi,

First of all let them demand you don’t have to pay what they say . Tell them you have other commitments and kids to look after , they can’t take Monet off you If you cant afford it .
my ex husband is £900 in debt he has his own business, a seven bedroom house in the country , a Porsche, Mercedes , smart car , van and a Saab . He signed all his earnings over to his partner so it looks like her earns nothing , I pray the day will come and she up a and leaves with everything. I don’t want his money, I work fulltime and so does my husband , my girls want for nothing but any money I would get off him would get paid into their banks for college or university or a car they want when they are of age.
The CSA have taken it on themselves to try and get the debt back off him , which they allowed him to get into in the first place ! So as it stands he has told them he can’t afford to pay , he pays £14:99 per month which I transfer I to my youngest girls bank . Now before anyone starts calling me a money grabber or anything else that you all seem to do on here , my husband cheated , he left when my youngest was 3 months old . He doesn’t talk to my eldest daughter as she has stopped talking to him , so as a result he has never tried to see her , never calls the youngest to say goodnight he has her once a fortnight. Myself and my now husband provide for the kids , my ex got everything when he cheated I didn’t want anything I walked away leaving him with everything after 14 years of marriage! If you can sort payments out without the CSA then try , they can’t make you pay what you can’t afford , good luck anyway ! X

  2. That is not true. They can make you pay what you can’t afford, hence why people commit suicide!

Go to Child Support Rip Offs on FB for more advice :0)

  3. I believe the CSA can take up to 40% of the non resident parents income, regardless of their outgoings, so 25% may be reasonable depending on how many children he has/ how much contact he has with them. Have you informed the CSA he has a dependant child living with him? This would reduce the amount he has to pay, only fair as he has other children to support? When the baby is born inform the CSA that he has a second dependant child living with him. Have the CSA assessed his income correctly? Request evidence of how they have arrived at the current calculation of child support they have assessed he has to pay (not a payment schedule). It is best to communicate via e-mail (address can be found on gov.uk website), and print out a copy of the email, or send a recorded letter. If you really want to see what the CSA have been doing you can make a SAR (subject access request) in writing for ALL the information held on the case to be released, including audio recordings.

  4. Let your boyfriend stay at home and look after the kids and you go out to work. The CSA payments are attached to him not you.
