Why am I paying my son’s mum when he lives with his nan?

November 9, 2013

Hi, I dont know if anyone can give me some advice but it would be really helpfull. My son is supposed to be living with his mum but since we broke up he lives with his nan and only spends one night a week with his mum and spends all the holidays with me.

Obviously im having to pay the csa but this is going straigt to his mum, is there a way i can get the payment made to the person he really lives with as my ex only wants him for the money.

I cant afford to go to court as this is already costing me so much but he wants to live with me. Hios nan is retired and dosent want the hassle of a child around the house either but wont risk upsetting her daughter? can any one help me with these problems?

Basically your payments will go to the person who receives the child benefit. If you can challenge this in some way then you have a fighting chance. It amounts to fraud but the mother will just turn round and say he living with her so you need to get evidence and be prepared for a long wait
