Who is the CSA accountable to?
My son has always paid for his 2 sons, his 1st partner insisted on cash in hand, but against our advise he paid as not to upset her and the his 2nd partner who he lived with part time, supported her by paying bills and buying food ect.
On both occasions they had new partners with whom they live, and both applied to the CSA because they thought they would get more money.
My son is hard working and hates it if he is not working – both his ex’s and partners do not work or work full time although there is no reason why they cannot! After travelling expenses and living expenses he is -£20 a week, if my husband and I didn’t help out financially he would be deep in debt we pay for his car repair, car tax ect and most probably he would be homeless.
In January he was told he owed £2,500 arrears, due to the CSA cock up and gave him 2 weeks to pay or they would take him to court, they would not give him time to pay and would only spread it over 2 months, which would mean he could not get to work as he travels 30 miles each way and could not afford petrol-hence he would get sacked! Never mind buying food. We had to dig into our pension to pay for it.
We found out by chance that before this he OVERPAID £500, but they did not tell us. We have lost count the phone calls made to recoop this money, only to be met with young ignorant, arrogant employees who have not got a clue what they are doing, they even pretend to look at your claim and one said NO YOUR NOT ENTITLED TO THIS MONEY. They all promise to call you back when they have sorted out your problem, which as yet hasn’t happened. They pretend to hand you over to the boss in charge but know damn well it’s one of their work mates taking the mickey out of you.
Now we have been told they will reduce my sons payments but couldn’t tell us how much and when it will begin! I feel its another mickey taking.
Please who is accountable for the csa they not only makes my sons life a misery but us as well, everyday is on uphill struggle. Who can we speak to who can actually talk sense and give us the answer we require, is anyone trained to an acceptable level and qualified to give a good standard of service. My son has always contributed to his two sons and will continue to do so, so why do the csa staff treat all Fathers like scum of the earth, I can only comment on the staff we have spoke to.

he paid cash in hand, when she go csa and say he paid nothing he screwed, always pay with evidence behind it
1) Get your local M.P. involved and ask them to deal with the CSA.
2) Don’t speak to them on the phone. Get everything in writing as evidence for future maladministration.
3) Ask your M.P. to forward your case to the parliamentary ombudsman (PHSO) because of maladministration.
The whole system is shambolic and not fit for purpose. People over paying, people under paying and those not paying at all.
The CSA target those who do pay as ‘easy pray’, to extract as much from you as they can. It’s too hard for them to find the ones who don’t pay.
Regularly complain and challenge any decision they make, because they don’t know what they are doing!

Not PWCs or NRPs.
Not parliament or MPs.
Just a bunch of self serving public sector workers who regard the public as a source of money raising and employment.
Their time will come.
technically speaking as a government agency they should be accountable to us…. thi agency spread misery and dispear… we all need to challenge this corrupt stealth tax now.. I asked my abusive husband to leave the marital home as his temper and mouth were detremental to the 3 childrens lives, he agreed as long as i never touched his works pension and i gave him the child benefit, and that neither of us ever go for income benefits i.e csa from each other, i kept the children tax credits. we had a consent order made up and stamped at a financial hearing by a judge. that was 4 years ago, now 9 months later i get a letter from csa claiming my ex wants over £5000 worth of csa payments as he is the primary carer of the children as he holds the child benefit. the consent order is worthless as is only valid for 1 year from date of stamp (solicitors failed to tell me it was a preamble contract). My ex works fulltime, owns 2 properties whereas i rent! he earns over £700 a week! he beat the eldest child up and she won’t have anything to do with him, the middle one lives with him as he’s brainwashed her and buys her all the toys but throws her out on occassions and the youngest one stays half with me and him. he goes on 5-7 foreign holidays a year without the children, he gets mates to pick them up from school and have them for the weekend as he’s busy, social services are no help. I have a police file with all the abuse even in the last 4 years since wev’e not been together and still he’s classed as the primary carer! during school holidays he says due to work commitments he cannot have the youngest (11 years) so doesn’t see him for nearly 43 days, but i still have to give him £33 pounds a week in csa and £111 a week for the middle one. my salary was £500 a week but i’ve just been made redundant and apparently i have to give him a third of that settlement as well!!! The law is a joke, mine, my childrens and my parents lives are a misery at the moment. we have a hearing coming up with the csa so fingers crossed!! take care xx
