What’s the best way to avoid a penalty for changing jobs?

Right where to start?

Got problems with the csa as everyone who ever deals with them long story short got a doe and my job ends this Friday an starting a new job on Monday.

Just wanted to know if any one knows the best way to deal with it as I don’t want couple months down the line get a letter saying I owe a ridiculous amount which never seem to make sense I’m not really earning more then my last job maybe £80 a month more then my last job and I only pay 10% so shouldn’t really be hard to sort out the amount.

Plus I got the famous arrears shouldn’t be no more then £300 after almost paying £2200 which they tried to take it with in 4 months so any help let me know asap.

  1. Dont call them for gods sake – put your change of circumstances in writing and send it recorded delivery, then call a week later to confirm they have received it. As long as you keep them informed they are highly unlikely to be able to invent ‘arrears’ at a later date. Its the people that go on the sick and change jobs but dont tell them that find themselves in bother down the line as the CSA are legally entitled to hold the original CSA calculation in place as they didnt know otherwise as they werent informed. Incidently, how are you paying just 10%, it is 15% for one child? Never heard of anyone getting away with a 10% deduction!

  2. I’m paying 10% per child one child I only deal with csa and the other child I pay direct to pwc I spoke to a women at the csa called Beth she was really helpful and said as soon as I get another job let them know
