What are my options now that I’ve found out I have a child?

I’ve just received a letter with a claim for a child that I didn’t know exists.

The child is 8 and this is the first time I have been made aware. What are my options?

  1. You can dispute paternity and ask or a DNA test for which you will have pay if you are proved to be the father, (money back if you are not the father and it is arranged by the CMS).
You can accept paternity and come to a private arrangement.
You can accept a CMS calculation and pay direct.
You can pay through the CMS and pay an extra 20% of the maintenance.
You can contact child maintenance options for advice.
You can ignore it and face a lot more bother in the future.

  2. You have a few options about how to pay but none about how not to pay. They have you in thier sights now and ready to blow you away if you dont comply? Do your self a big favour and pay direct to your ex, otherwise face 20% on top of your monthly payments if these vultures have to enfoce it. That is of cause if the child is yours?
    Gonk
