They made a huge mistake – I’ve had more phonecalls this week than I have in five years!

July 4, 2013

I recently contacted CSA having had no success in the last 5 years. I was generally peed off at ex taking constant holidays and never visiting or paying attention to childrens’ needs.

To my horror, it was discovered that the ‘system’ had not picked up on the fact that ex had signed off benefits 2 years ago (conveniently when divorce was finalised and he had received legal aid) even though the signing off had physically been acknowledged at complaints level.

They have now realised their mistake and acknowledged that I have been ‘lost in the system’ and I have had more telephone calls from them this week than I have had in 5 years.

Apparently I am to be made a nominal payment because of their huge error, won’t hold my breath on that one but will be nice if it happens.

At the end of the day, ex is self-employed and if he is working cash in hand there is little they can do. Can’t fault the person who contacted me to relay the error as it would have been a bit like shooting the messenger. Will be good if they are going to be as thorough as they say they are, previously a letter from exes new partner to say she was supporting him seemed to suffice, shameful business.

Hopefully they can catch him if he’s paying income tax. If not give hmrc a call!
