They always tell me they’ll look into it but they never do
I am a single mum to a 13 year old boy who father hasnt made much effort to see or support my son for last ten years. in these ten years he has had 5 more children and not worked legally in this time im not sure how he has got away with claiming j.s.a for ten years but he has and because of that he pays my son 1.67 pw, which i find incredably insulting to myself who is paying far far far more to raise my son its also an insult to my son i mean what can u get with 1.67 pw in this day and age!
i have only been receiving this meagre amount for a year or so,so there is an arrears thats owed but trying to find out how much, forwhat periods, how and when its going to getpaid is like trying to get blood out of a stone! im always told when i ring they will look into it and ring me back but never do! so frustrating and annoying and the staff are mainly rude, clueless and unhelpful, its a shame as there is many men like my sons father that go out and have as many kids as they want with no fear of ever having to pay for them!

Talk to your local MP and let him/her deal with the CSA. The only people they are answerable to are the government. I did this and everything was sorted out really quickly. Good luck.
Hi, firstly the arrears will be ‘suspended’ whilst he is in receipt of benefits so you won’t get anywhere with that one, as they cannot be claimed by the CSA from him. Therefore it’s not a priority for them to do an account breakdown and collect arrears.
IF someone claiming is benefits illegally isn’t it LAW to report this?? You can do this anon. You don’t have to give your name. Claiming benefits whilst working is WRONG and ILLEGAL.
However, on the other side of the fence, wrong and illegal as it may be, he has 5 other kids to feed, therefore how do you suppose he can afford the % the CSA would say he has to pay for your son?? – Just playing devils advocate…
Could you not contact him (by phone or letter) and say you are prepared to close the CSA case IF he agrees to contribute an amount he can afford towards your son. It may be the CSA that is making him behave this way, as the CSA are so unfair and don’t take into account what ‘real money’ a NRP actually have left after paying their own bills!!
Hi there,
Listen – my situation is almost the same as yours but after so many years mess ups I did my own research and found out about Advance Payments. They are listed on the gov.uk website under CSA and are really given if you can prove that the CSA are guilty of maladministration for whatever reason. Mine was that they did n’t try hard enough to get the payment out of my ex – I too was receiving £1.70 for my twins. I have been fighting with the CSA for 8 years and have this week been approved for an Advance Payment of over £13,000 which is the arrears that have built up through the CSA’s incompetence. I contacted my MP but although that was helpful it didn’t move things along much. What did help was a document called ‘criteria for an advance payment . This is a CSA produced document that is available on the internet if you search and also is available from the CSA if you do a Freedom of Information letter. Go for it – if you can prove that the criteria in this document matches with your case then you WILL be granted one – and quickly at that. I threatened them with the papers and lawyers and it worked – took three weeks. Make them SO sick of you that they want to just get rid of you. Lots of luck 🙂
