The system makes a mockery of most who use it
3 kids, 2 ex husbands. First ex NEVER had his maintenance put up in 18 years, lied about his outgoings. CSA can only go on info absent parent provides, apparently. Also asked if they preferred if they collected the money, or he paid me directly. Many’s a time that he didn’t. CSA’s response: if we don’t collect the money for you, it’s up to you to retrieve missed payments. Also, too many different systems that clash with each other (4 in total, I believe, which all use different criteria and calculations. Therefore, depending on the system your details are in, your entitlement can vary)
Just off the phone to them again regarding my youngest child’s maintenance. Asked for it to be reviewed before Christmas, they only contacted the ex at the end of January and now need to wait till he files his (dodgy) HMRC returns. Staff have always been lovely and seem to be helpful, but the system makes a mockery of most who use it.

dont use it simples yes i no you want maintenance and the father should help towards the cost of bringing up your children etc but the amount of money it is costing you in phone calls is it worth it plus the csa will start charging you soon when you are put on thr new system 20 pound to open a case so you should probly save your self some stress or become a private detective so csa can help you get the maintenance
It dont matter wat his outgoings are he can lie or tell the truth. Csa will asses it on his takehome not his outgoings. If he earned 500 a wk and out goings were 499 the csa will still take 15 percent of his takehome. Based on 1 child. If he earned 500 a wk and his out goings were only 200 they will still only take 15 percent of the 500. The csa dont care about outgoings dads are losing their homes cant feed new family n new kids cos csa just dont care about outgoings this is the main prob with csa they just dont care. So where u say he lies about his outgoings that is absolutely not a true statement to make.
Yes…this is why so many people hate this vile agency. How the hell can this agency decide that a Nrp has no out goings???? WTF is that all about. We live on thin air, don’t eat and have no rent,mortgage, utility bills. Nothing in their eyes. You don’t pay a amount that’s fair and based on what you can afford. It’s outrageous.
And the charge as far as I understand is only incurred if either parent cannot or will not come to a private arrangement. The charge is inplace to discourage parents being obstructive with one another in making a private arrangement.

Yes…there’s another option you might not have heard about or choose to ignore….get a job….thousands of mothers do. That’s what pisses me off as well. These women who use the kids as an excuse all the time, even when they are older and not dependant so much on the mother, bleeting on about can’t work because I’m a full time mum. People bang on about the immigrants taking our jobs etc but I know several polish ones that work their asses off and have to juggle it around small kids. So it is possible. Just proves that some mothers can’t be arsed to work but instead expect their ex and the f….ing state to keep em.
