The pressure is sending me around the bend
Can I ask your opinion regarding the Child Support Agency? As I have struggled with this organisation for the past 18 years.
I have some arrears which are outstanding, I am fully aware of these, however having changed jobs and earning £50k per annum to being unemployed for 4 weeks then gaining employment with an agency for a period of 13 weeks (£19k per annum) and them gaining full time employment for a period of 14 weeks (£26k per annum) yet the CSA are still trying to claim £90 a week from myself, which is the figure calculated when I was earning the larger salary.
I have had to inform them that my daughter was and has been in full time employment for approx 13 months, which they wasn’t aware of.
I have had 4 letters since 1st November all not very self explanatory so I have had to seek advice from the local CAB, who contacted them on my behalf yesterday, they were informed that a new schedule would be looked into and I would receive a telephone call on the Thursday of that week.
I received a call, explaining that £578.41 would be taken from my salary on the Friday, a total of 33%, a third of my salary and after my monthly direct debits this leaves me approx £160 to live and pay my bills and I wouldn’t receive a call now until next week the earliest to address the schedule.
When I tried to ask about the 4 letters and the calculation again, they were not interested. I seem to be going round and round.
I would get more benefits if I signed on, how I am suppose to live on this amount and they have scheduled £656.05 for the next 11 months, I just don’t understand they calculations, especially after receiving a letter stating that I have finished paying for my daughter from 3rd September 2012, yet another letter stating they have added more!
I am struggling to understand all of this and the pressure of all of this, well it’s slowly sending round the bend.

I would like it if this criminal organisation published the number of suicides they have caused.
my suggestion is appeal the most recent csa calculation. write to the same address that you have been writing to but make it clear that it is for the appeals dept. and is an appeal. if they do not agree, then they will give you details of how to appeal to a tribunal. A tribunal is a form of court so it will be before a jugde. ( well a senior solicitor training to be a judge.) Eitherway like any other court case you will have to organise your evidence and argue your case in such a way that a child would understand. so preparation is key. if you are not successful here then you can appeal to a tier 2 appeal. I will warn you that tthe CSA will send a solicitor to argue against you. but if you are properly prepared you will have the advantage as to him your case is just a number. to you the case mattters.
good luck
