The CSA have driven me to depression, we need to fight them
I have 5 children with my ex wife. I have paid csa every week because my ex would’nt tell them were i was working or living and didn’t tell me she had gone to CSA, i had been paying her cash each wk 4 over a year. I didnt get reciepts, which was silly of me because when they did find me through NE, i was £4,500 in arrears so I’ve been paying very hefty amount of money each week 4 the 1st 3 years as i finished paying her arrears off csa decided 2 go back 2 my 1st wife with whom I had 2 boys, who are now 28 and 25 years old. The CSA claim i owe her £40,000 from 1994 till 2002; but they dont understand I had started a new family 1996 and by 2001 i had 3 children so how can i owe that much when i was bringing up 3 kids?
They dont seem 2 be taking this into account. My 14 year old daughter lives with me and my ex refuses to pay any CSA. They put up my amount like today again but how are me and my daughter meant to live I’m getting so depressed with it all. It’s so unfair, people are scared of dying but at the moment I’m feeling like i would welcome it. We need to find someone who can fight these people but its hard working for nothing and finding legal aid I’m getting totally worn down with it all.

I know exactly how you feel but please please try to stay positive. Don’t let them destroy you totally. They are pure evil and unbelievably heartless but you are better than them, you have a heart and soul which is something they are devoid of. Keep your chin up as there are plenty of us being ripped apart by these bastards. You are not alone 🙂
Fight them, we all are, our.complaints are being.noticied and arrears that are slapped on.people turn out to be unlawful and wrong, maladministration at.the highest level, never take the csa word for anything, get your data file costs £10 this shows every piece of correspondance between them and you, they also can.only start a case.from when the parents get the assessment through, always question arrears, never give them bank details they will raid it without permission

You need csa to clarify and ask for proof (make your request in writing – always) of the start date of the claim made by your 1st wife and an explanation as to why you were not made aware of her filing for maintenance. The difficulty here is that you didn’t pay child support through the bank…….. you have absolutely no proof of money changing hands 🙁 you must seek help from a debt advisor (your local authority will have the details of those offering support for free), they will also be able to advise you from a legal point of view and help you in your correspondence to csa in order for your family to avoid financial hardship. Best wishes.
I would add that a lot of pwcs are bullied into making csa claims by the benefit office. Many are told that they will not receive benefits unless they give their ex’s details hence why some resort to saying that they do not know where their former partner is in order to avoid filing……

Melinda:- PWC’s have had no obligation to use the CSA since 2008, whether in receipt of benefits or not.
Before that those on benefit with children had to make an application to the CSA if they wished to receive the benefit.
