The CSA are treating my brother terribly

This is about my brother who once owed just £800 and paid the mother to his 2 children £40 cash in hand. He now supposely owes £23000 and £240 is to be taken out of his part time wages to pay this stupid amount back…I am disgusted at the way my brother is and as been treated.

Also he now has his son living with him and not once was the customer rep speaking on behalf of CSA bothered about this. How is my brother suppose to live when all you are doing is badgering to pay this money he does not owe?

I believe the ‘mother’ should take a lie detector test that would prove she had money given to her whilst claiming.

Its absolutely disgusting treating certain fathers this way!!

Get your brother to ask for his data file, costs £10, this file will have every letter, every calculation, everytime the agency has contacted him, i can bet you that when he gets this he owes not half of what the CSA are claiming, this is down to Ian Duncan Smith saying he wants over 3 billion collected in maintainance, the working parents are the easy targets, good luck hope you get this sorted,

  3. Fine example of constructive help by lisa.
    Far less would be said if it was Alice or chall replying.they would just spout on about legislation and the law…neither would advise you to get data print outs…certainly not Alice…he works for the CSA

Get your mp involved I did , you will not get everything sorted the way you want but as soon as a MP is involved your case gets sorted quickly and from a real caseworker who at least knows there rules and you get a direct phone number and no longer have to speak to those muppets on the shop floor who all have a combined IQ of 50 , data print are a must before complaining !!!!!!

We have been treated in a similar manner -the CSA believe all the pwc has told them despite our continued support to the pwc .It was paid into her bank we have EVERY BANK statement to prove it -they don’t want to know !! .She wont admit she received the money & we are having to pay it all again. The CSA have allowed her to do this !! Almost at the end of the liability to pay CM & they are allowing her to go back years. She has alienated all the children from him ( & me -the nrpp,who had a good relationship with the step children prior to this,)Do they not think she would have said something BEFORE if she wasn’t receiving regular CM ? What was she living on then -fresh air ? We were having the children EVERY WEEKEND and providing most of their school uniforms, shoes & coats as well .We took them on holiday & have albums of the children having good times with us ) Thanks CSA for allowing her to do this to us (sorry for the sarcastic comment there- but its how I feel !!) We can only hope they,(the qualifying children )in the future,will see it was all about money & remember the happy times with us!!

  10. might sound daft but as no one every come across a loop hole against the CSA ..my brother is at a all time low..he as made a claim against should you say his ex a few months a go and they still haven’t sorted it for him ( I am been polite)as his son lives with him and as done for quiet a few years ,but the csa as still took money out of his part time wages for what he supposedly owes HER .( which he doesn’t ) ..can anyone recommend a solicitor or does it cost . he once went to court and got no where …any ideas please thank you

  11. @ Louise.. Tell your brother to harass his local MP… They usually get the CSA to take heed…

    NACSA is also great for guidance and truthful advice….

  13. It’s an organisation that has been set up to help people deal with the CSA because the CSA staff lie, tell you partial information so that they keep their jobs etc however the NACSA keep us right and help people who want to take the CSA to court… http://www.nacsa.co.uk

  15. my brother as recently had a letter from a solicitors saying he owes £30,000 ( its gone up as was around 23,000 before and past month hes paid £1,000 of this off ) and he needs to speak with them to arrange payment ..he is paying something as the csa are taking money out of his part time wages… as hes paying does this mean the letter is worthless ..I personally think his ex is trying to get her hands on his house!!! if hes paying something to the csa does that letter mean nothing …
    As said before when he was made redundant many years ago the amount he owed was £800 …then all of a sudden it went to £23,000 ..
    its disgusting and time the government got rid of the csa…its wrong !!
    any more advice would be appreciated thank you ..

  16. Do you brother a favour get your MP involved all it takes is a MPs letter to the Csa and they start listening to the problems good luck !!!

Hi Louise, as Macon says, get your brothers local MP involved but also get his data files from CSA to see what has been paid etc… I think his ex is trying to get her hands on his money and I’ll be honest with you… Your brother needs to nip this in the bud (or you to do it for him)…. The CSA are thieves and liars and do not have morals or a conscience…

    I would also suggest you sign up with NACSA (I realise the subscription costs £60 but if you read their success stories I think it would be money well spent for your brother) as they will advise you honestly..
