The CSA are taking money from my JSA – is there anything I can do?
November 28, 2013
My Story is I am claiming JSA because I am not working, but looking this weekend gone I received a letter saying that £5 a week will be deducted from my JSA.
I contacted them on the 25/11/2013, and after the forth time of contacting them i eventually got through. I was asked a variety of security questions, which I understand, but then I was told they could no go any further with this as I got a security question wrong. I thought about which one I might of got wrong and the only one was my sons date of birth, which was stupid of me, I then recalled them back with the correct date of birth.
They asked me what was my sons mothers surname, which because i don’t have contact with the mother if she has remarried then I would not know it. What gets me they can take the money out of my JSA without any notice at all, and also not help me when I required. regardles of what security questions, which most i know if i don’t no my x’s married name this might be the reason, but why would I want to know her name, when it dose not interest me.
I don’t even see my children they are 19 and 21, I have not even fallen out with my children, i sore my kids once on my birthday which was June this year and i have not seen them since.
I have always paid my child support, but a couple of years ago I overpaid, the parent with care she closed the account, but i never herd from the CSA ever again until they have just taken £5 out of my benefit, which is to help me look for work.
nope
They can but its all crap. The government say that what you get is the min you need to live off yet part gets taken off you before you even get it. The CSA brake human rights law every day. And one day it will bite them back. Just keep all your paper work you never no maybe able to sue them one day. Like all this stuff with ppi. Become a student. You won’t need to pay I believe.
They take what they want when they want , they take child tax credit off me even thou I’m not working at mo
I don’t mind paying but c’mon I don’t work at the mo due to new baby and yet they taking 33 a week off my kids money that I have with me , the whole thing is corrupt n should b done away with but that will never happen cos its lining the governments pockets , y would they do away with something that makes them richer
Together we can change the csa. The law needs to be changed and its not hard for them to use their brain. and this is one reason why. Fathers do need to pay for their children but the way in which payments are worked out needs to change. Like payments are worked out after LIFE bills and taken into account first like food rent etc. Then they also needs to look at the full household income of the parent with care and take that into account so the money doze go to mums who really do need it not mums who want the use it to pay their new car off why you cant pay your rent.. They need to stop taking into account working tax credits and child tax credits on the fathers side or paying parent as an income also. Also if the mother will not let you see you kids you should pay less. It the mother gets married or moves in a new partner then that’s a family unit and a parent who hardy sees their child should not pay a full amount but this will never happen untill the people effected speak out by protesting etc power to the people.
They shud face manslaughter charges for the 60 plus dads they bullied to death sad but true fact. They once said to me on phone that my kids will starve to death without my money. How many kids have have starved to death cos of nrps who dont pay and how many nrps have been bullied to death
Csa up for manslaughter
There is one thing you can do to stop them. Don’t work and don’t claim. Worked for me.
And go to the magic money tree at the end of the garden so the mortgage and bills can be paid Matt Thompson?
No the max they can take is £5 per week when on benefits
anyone that is having money taken form there benefits need to look at this section 187 of the social security and administration act 1992 states that certain benefits are inalienable from such debts, the benefits are child benefit and all income related benefit
laughable!
yeh its right and its true unfortunately.
i dont have kids and married to someone who does have 3, i was on jsa for some time and then on esa because i was unwell. Money was taken from my benefit to supply my husbands kids. is this fair? You have had part in making these children now stop complaining and keep your dick in your pants,,,,,, simple xx
Sarah Barry, that’s a little harsh. These people are not saying they don’t want to pay for their children, their just stating how corrupt the CSA system is n how it pushes NRP over the brink and into despair. My husband has a child with his ex my children have their tax credits taken off them to give to her hardly fair at all.. My husband always provided for his son before the CSA involvement, but his ex became bitter and twisted after he moved on with his life after she upped sticks n left him n moved hundreds of miles away. These NRP where probably mostly in loving relationships with the PWCs many married n probably never imagined been in this situation.
Csa was taking all my wages leaving me the minimum legal living amount yet when I request a DNA be done they told me £500 up front for one so basically not gunna happen they also said that they believed I was the parent of the child on my ex’s say so which is ridiculous with out DNA proof
