Surely they must leave enough money for her to eat?
This is for my sister who has recently split up from her husband. Their 14yr old son has stayed at home with his dad and he’s put a CSA claim in.
She is on a low wage and is now having to pay for a privately rent flat and all the bills, but they have told her she is going to have to pay 15% of her wages irrelevant of the fact this won’t leave her with any money for food.
Surely this isn’t allowed?
They are potentially forcing her to go back to a loveless marriage, or she will lose her home.
Any advice would be great.

nope told us to go to a charity to feed our kids to pay her her n her husband n both kuds work n wamt hubbys muny n my kuds muny shes even tried to get her hands on my earnings…….im a student do hav no income but ay stopped em trying n told to get free carrier bags of food to feed our kids with one wsge esrner n 5 kids

Dads have always been able to claim! I claim it for my son, but only because she got a massive court settlement in our separation! Not all nrp are bad but gosh my sons mother has not seen him in 8 month and he is now 4

but csa vary rarely go after the mum

I’m pleased for him I placed mine 3 years ago and I’m still waiting she racked up 8900 of arrears and they say it’s not in the interests to pursue
15percent of ur wages? Wouldn’t u be shedding out a lot more if ur son decided to stay with u? 14 year olds I know myself ain’t cheep these days I think my child would spend 15percent of my money on a weekly basis never mind a monthly

15% of her wage is correct for 1 child.
15% is the right amount, I’ve had a struggle with my husbands wages as they take out 20% for his two boys. I’ve learned that its pointless getting bitter about it. I had to learn to budget everything from food to clothes shopping and days out etc but it can be done
They normally stop chasing arrears when the payer can show they have no income or are in receipt of certain kinds of benefit.

CSA don’t care if you can’t afford food, not their problem, they will tell you
sad and true…normally its the father put into poverty by this scum. They don’t give a shit how you live so long as you do live in order for them to bleed you of cash.
