Still paying CSA when my daughter has left college

Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on with my payments? i contacted yous in June explaining that my daughter Melissa was no longer at college and was working in full time employment.

I have phoned a few times since then and was told its being investigated, four months later and still no reply. My daughter has now turned 19. 02-10-93.

So why am i still paying for my 2 daughters? can somebody please do their bloody job properly.

  1. This is not the Child Support Agency web site.
You need to call 08456 090 042 and ask them to check the date child benefit ceased for your eldest daughter and to remove her from your case accordingly.
It is not a good idea to reveal names and dates of birth in a public forum.
If your attitude is the same on telephone as in this post I am sure they will treat you with up most sympathy and move with alacrity.

  2. as Wilf says you should not name your child and post her DOB on an open website, also you should contact the CSA on the tel no provided and request that they confirm that Child Benefit is no longer being paid to your ex for your daughter. If you daughter left full time non advanced education and was not yet 19 Child Benefit would be payable up to 03/09/2012 – your child may have intended to return to college after the summer holidays and may have been lucky enough to get a full time summer job.

Once your child reaches her 19th Birthday the CSA system will automatically generate a task on the case to remove the child from the case. This task may not be completed on your child’s 19th birthday and this is simply due to the amount of cases the csa work on each day. You liability will be ended and any overpayment would be refunded to you, if however you have arrears on your case the money collected will be allocated against these arrears and you willnot have this refunded to you. If you have another child in your case (you say 2 daughters) then a small overpayment would not necessarily be refunded but will be held by the csa (in a non-interest paying account) and will be paid out when due to your ex for your younger child so it may mean that you don’t need to make payment for a short time – this will require the CSA to re-schedule the payments
