Should my sister give her ex money back when he has his daughter?

Asking on behalf of my sister.

She has just divorced so father pays her £450 pm for only daughter (aged 15). He has daughter every other weekend. Should my sister send daughter spending money as father keeps asking her to send money for when he has her on his weekend. Should she send money?

This is an arrangement made not through csa but through solicitor. Look forward to your reply.

  1. Bruce,

Did the arrangement through the solicitor also take into account when child contact would take place?

Was the arrangement agreed by the court?

Does the £450 pm just cover child maintenance or is anything else included?

  2. To me it’s very simple….too bloody right she should, when he’s pays her so much money each month for one child ,how is he expected to shell out even more money seeing her every other wk end? How indeed does he afford it ?
I have this problem where I’m forced to pay my ex £320 each month for my daughter and now can’t afford to see her on a regular basis because of the bloody csa.
I asked my ex to help me out when I see my daughter but didn’t even get a reply from the selfish bitch.
I suspect he’s struggling to cope with having her every other wk end as well as having to pay your sister so much money each month…my question to you and her is this.wheres the help coming from for him when he sees his daughter? Your sister gets a healthy amount of help from him,so why shouldn’t he have a little ?

  3. Your sister is getting a reasonable amount for the 15 year old daughter, maybe it would be nice if the mother gives a little back when the father gets weekend visits. The PWC will still be getting her benefits for the girl ,at some stage your sister or her ex could go through the CSA if they think they would pay more/less.This money will not be paid for ever,it finishes on the childs 19th birthday if still going into full time education. What will your sister do then,it will be an awful lot of money to lose each month, including child benefit and child tax.As for being a NRP he is doing whats right by your niece ,not many PWC and a NRP can say that(can they).
