Should I pay CSA if my child is claiming benefits?

January 22, 2015

Wonder if anyone can help me, so much misinformation about. If my son is going to college 15hours weekly, but also claiming benefits in his own right and child benefit is no longer in payment should I pay maintenance?

My son is 19 and financially independent due to out of work benefits. The csa are telling me that child benefit is not required as long as my son attends college and is under twenty.

Anyone help?

You pay until 20 now. My daughter is 22 I stopped paying for her wen she was 19. My son is 19 but they wont shut case until he is 20 or leaves collage.

I always understood that once children were in Full-Time education AND living away from the PWC, Child Maintenance ceased from the first day they moved out.

Got something to say?
