Should I go through the CSA to get my child maintenance?
My husband was paying me £80 a week for my two children, now aged 14 and 11. He then decided he didnt want to pay that amount anymore and reduced it to £60 a week.
This week becuase he bought my daughter a pair of trainer and a polo shirt, he paid only £34.00 because he said he couldnt afford anymore before he had to pay a tax bill as he’s self employed. He used to pay himself £453.00 a week when we were together. We split up two years ago and we are now going through a divorce.
Would it benefit me to go through the CSA to get my maintenance?

Simple answer is no….if he’s self employed you could end up with a fiver a week or less! If he’s providing the children with things also then that’s got to come from somewhere. Also come Oct, parents will have to pay to use the csa, with csa retaining a % of what they get before they give it to the other parent. Try and come up with an easier solution with your ex, just because he was earning 450.00 a week when he was with you might have changed, and he’s got to be able to live too.
