Should I alter my payments as daughter comes to stay with me?

I pay for my daughter £100 a month direct to her mum and pay £20 a week for school meals. My Daughter comes to stay with myself and my partner from Thursday to Sunday evening. During the half term my Daughter stays with me for the whole week. I made a £20 deduction to the £100 I give to my daughters mum. My Daughters mum lives with her partner and they split the cost of living. Should I make this deduction? I do not see why I should contribute to her cost of living when she is not there and I am paying for her. Please advise.

  1. I guess this really depends on how stable your ex is. Mine is totally unreasonable and a total fruitcake.

My ex went on holiday for 5 weeks over Christmas and New Year with her latest boyfriend. I’d been paying her £200 a month, every month up until that month that my daughter stayed with me and my wife. My daughter also would stay with me for up to two weeks at a time outside normal contact and I paid the money regardless. My ex had the audacity to call the CSA from the Carribean and say she never received money for December. Thankfully the CSA took my side on this ocassion and took no further action.

I closed the case with the CSA…and within days my ex started another case. The CSA assessment said I should be paying £14 a week now. So, from £200 a month to £60 a month. All I can really say to that is ha-ha!
