Security check failure and wrong maintenance assessment

January 25, 2012

Firstly an address that iv never lived at appeared on the CSA,s system, my case file to be exact. The CSA have sent letters to this address containing my personal information. I’ve complained to them about this and they told me that the address probably appeared on their system through another government agency. This is absolute rubbish as no other agency would have this information unless i gave it to them. I’ve never lived at this address, also its in another part of the UK. I asked the CSA ta send me all my personal data records dating back 2 years, they did this and the only information that was on there was the date when this address appeared on my case file. There was no records of how this address appeared on my file such as a phone call or letter. The CSA have messed up big time on the grounds concerning the data protection act and i know they’ve removed the most important file concerning my complaint.

I had 3 letters from the CSA informing me of 3 different payment amounts, the 1st letter stated that i havnt paid enough in the past and that i needed to pay the excess, the second letter stated that i had paid to much in the past and that any money that’s owed to me will be deducted from future payments. The 3rd letter stated that according to their records, I hadn’t been paying enough in the past and they decided to add an amount of unpaid money which just didnt add up. The CSA just make up these payments and rob us all the time. They use wording like “the past” instead of stating an appropriate date when it comes to their assessments. I now have an appeal in progress and I know that there final decision will still be benefiting to them even though they’ve broken the data protection act. How is it that the CSA seem to have an answer for everything in there favour, even when they’re wrong and who conducts these appeals, I’m guessing that the CSA have their own law.

I do completely understand where your coming from and the CSA are truly make this all up as they go.

EVERYONE GET YOUR MP involved!! NO matter what. Regardless send them a copy of every letter you send to the CSA.

Don’t let the MP do nothng! Stand up and get the MP over worked with local CSA cases guaranteed to piss them off and force the issues directly with higher CSA bods..please pass this message on.
CSA will only take notice if an MP gets pissed off.

    Thanks

Can you confirm if this happened when your case first commenced OR whilst the case has been active?

It happened when my case was active and it’s still under investigation…
the CSA will probably try to get out of it by writing a letter filled with bullshit!

    craig,

I’m sure your right and a blame game will probably ensue….

Let us know how you get on.

the csa keep telling me i have failed there security question and terminating my call and refuse to tell me what questions i have failed so they wont deal with me what can i do

  • JAY says:

Yes the CSA do have their own law, its called child support law, dont you just love it when parents will do all they can to blame the csa for everything and not take any blame themselves, if parents owned up to their responsibilities there wouldnt be a need for the CSA at all, the systems the csa use to obtain addresses are benefit systems, and credit reference agencies, what exactly would they benefit from by making an address up for you?
Lisa packer, all you can do is remember the info you gave originally, like most organisations they wont tell you what questions youve failed on.

to lisa packer, what ya need ta do is write to the CSA’s complaint department and demand all ya data which is kept on their file. They have to by law provide ya with this information. They will take their time with this but you will eventually receive the information that you’ve requested. Once you’ve received this information, go through it very carefully. you will find mistakes on a lot of the data, the data is a collection of letters, computer records and phone calls in your file case. if you find information thats not right then you write to the complaints department and demand that they investigate it. My advice to you is NEVER phone the CSA, always write letters and have them sent by recorded delivery and keep your own records of dates for every letter sent and received, hope this will help, Craig
