Punished for leaving an unhealthy relationship
Hi all,
I was paying csa on 2 kids to my ex-wife whilst working as a call centre manager to the tune of £500 per month. This despite having a new partner and child. After tax/N.I and CSA this left me with just over £650 for the month. As I was considered to be earning a liveable wage I was not entitled to tax credits, yet still I paid. We lost our home and had to take a cheap flat in gangland in the first year alone there were 3 slayings within 50 yards of our new residence, countless beatings and stabbings etc. Our stairs were covered in needles, foil, gas cans, bottles, swabs and human excrement. Yet still we paid.
I stopped when my ex took 4 luxury holidays to Turkey in 1 year and had decided to use our money to move my 2 girls to Istanbul and her latest partner. I am now working as a pot washer and earning a fraction of what I had before as I have to move between jobs to stay ahead of these vultures. I wanted to support my children but could not afford the payments without causing serious harm to my resident child and do not believe that she should ever have been allowed to use our money in a manner detrimental to my girls health and well being. The system is a joke and causes untold suffering it is just a weapon to be used to punish people for having the gumption to leave that which is more often than not a very unhealthy relationship.

I’m not sure why you would not be considered for tax credits especially child tax if there is a child in your home?
Also you need to establish if you’re paying the correct amount and all your circumstances given to the csa.
