Please advise me on the CSA
Hi all, can anyone give me advice on this?
The csa contacted me on friday to tell me i owed 35k in back pay since 2002 up to today,of course i was shocked as i was never really aware of any payments due, this is down to the fact that when we was divorced my ex walked away with everything approx 250k, i had 2 of the children she also had 2, i had to start again with nothing with 2 girls in tow.
My ex has since remarried and has again split with her current husband, she has no morgage and i am shocked that she still come after me after all this time, i have been told by the csa that the case was pending in 2002 but i thought {stupidly} that because she had so much money in the bank and could not claim income support that all was well, this is not the case, i have been told that i must pay 15% of my gross pay montly till my daughther hasleft full time education, and also the 35k must be paid within 2 years max or else court, can anyone help or guide me in the right direction please.

Your case was so familiar I thought I was reading my own. Two sons with me, two with her, CSA demanding huge arrears. A divorce that cost £500k. I know what’s happening with you. The CSA are doing this to everyone and anyone at the moment. They have billions in so-called arrears that even the auditor general says are incorrect and as I understand it, the new Government has given them 2 years to collect it all in. So now they are chasing up all the old cases, especially those like yours where they will keep the money for themselves. I think we need to discuss. Where are you in the country?
I would ask for proof in writing and also ask for a full breakdown of the ‘alleged’ arrears!
