Paying more to CSA because of CS1 rules

I tried to make an arrangment qwith my ex. I offered her £60 a week for 1 child. She refused and and due to me being on the CS1 rules i now have to pay 30% of my net income so £100 a week.

My morgage is £115 a week and i also have to pay the £100 a week to the CSA so £215 vanishes before i even touch it.

The CSA dont care about any debts that i have or anything. I have been paying this for a while now.

I truly do not believe that it is legal for the CSA to run a two tier system (CS1 and CS2)that the resident parent can truly hold you to randsom with.

CS2 would have me pay £55 so why should i have to pay £100. My local MP was no joy. He could do nothing to help. I have written to David Cameron 2 times. Both sent recorded delivery but never got a reply.

I am now contacting a debt company to try and help me and at this rate i may even have to declare bancruptcy.

  1. Even though you can maybe declare yourself bankrupt it doesn’t write off CSA arrears.

It is ridiculous that no-one listens to complaints about this Agency. Have you tried writing to Noel Shanahan, Chief Exec of CSA. We did that on our complaint rounds and did get a reply.

  2. Omg we have shanahan on our case (didn’t realise he was that high up) but told our mp we will get a reply in the near distant future….yup that’s the words used, we’ve been waiting nearly a year for the proper assessment to be done and the ex investigated, yet our lives put on hold for them to falsify the books!!!

  3. Jay we are in the same position. April last year we started our complaint. Countless letters to CSA complaints department were never even acknowledged. When tthey did reply the Agency should win an award for evading clearly answering questions!!

13 months down the line and we have a meeting soon with Senior Manager. I am almost praying we can get something sorted, put it this way it has to financially or god knows what will happen!! Your MP can call in managers to have these meetings if there is good cause.

You have the top man on the job, literally!

  4. Well that’s some good news I guess, my husband’s case is such a shambles and all the csa have done is lie and could easily cause a split between us….they have no shame!! Hope you get somewhere soon carol xx

  5. Terry your mp has to work for you, don’t let them you off, they are there to ensure your duty of care, also threaten csa in writing with ice and the mp….show to tgem that you are not going away or accepting what they say to be true. If it wasn’t for me my poor hubby would have thrown the towel in, he wasn’t an absent dad yet gets tarred as one, with what he’s been out through he wishes he did walk away forwhat good it done him xx
