Out of work for 3 years yet CSA still chase for money
In a word, I am disgusted with the CSA – my husband and I have to children aged 3 and 1, he has 2 kids from his ex girlfriend who are 13 and 14 – we have them 3 times a week, sometimes more, he pays her money each month that we cannot afford BUT still the CSA have twice sent bailifs to my home claiming we owe them 7k!!!!
My husband was out of work for medical reason for about 3 years. The CSA have 3 TIMES been given all this info, becuase his scamming ex did not tell them we had other kids, that we had her kids and that there had been periods of unemployment…….
So CSA… do your job properly… stop chasing loving fathers who DO PAY THEIR WAY and go after those that dont!!

annoyed and upset,
It is the responsibility of the NRP to inform the CSA of any changes, such as unemployment and/or any relevant other child that live in their household.

Did your husband ever advise the CSA of non employment? When the calculations for maintenance came through was there a deduction for the children that live with you as there should have been a deduction of 20%? At the time your husband was not in employment was he in receipt of benefits? I have been told by the CSA that when an nrp is in receipt of a state prescribed benefit they will amend an assessment, seemingly new legislation came in last year about that.

This amendment came in in 2011.
Were you also told by the CSA that they would retrospectively apply such to circumstances prior to the date of said amendment?

chall – I was speaking to CSA on an assessment that they carried out for my partner for the period June 2007-November 2009 and told them they had it wrong (the assessment was done January 2012) I was told the only way they would amend an assessment is if the nrp can prove they were in receipt of a prescribed benefit – she implied retrospectively but was very vague about it
