On the verge of suicide because of CSA

I had to leave my exwife nearly 6 years ago as she was seeing someone behind my back, BUT ! not just 1 man but numerious, It nearly killed me to leave my kids and i was put on anti depressants for years. i contacted the csa to pay my way as i know i should but she said she did not want the money, all she wanted was for me to have the kids but onle living on friends and familys sofa`s ui moved 29 times in 6 years, But getting back to the csa THEY DO NOT LISTEN !!! as i found out. I thought monies were being deducted but they wernt as i am now £18,000 in arrears.

My exwife has distroyed every relaitionship i have ever had, and is doing it again, I cannot pay £18,000 now as i genuinely only take home less than £600 a month as an agency driver as NO ONE will employ me as i have an illness for life.

I AM SO DEPRESSED AND WORRIED I WILL LOSE the woman i am with who has stuck with me ( but for how long ).

Someone please please please help me , as if i lose her I WILL TAKE MY OWN LIFE as i will have nothing left to live for as i am on the verge of losing my home as well.

  1. Big mistake contacting the CSA. They are only after how much money they can take from you and keep. In many cases they have not passed the money onto your ex and/or your children.

Why do you say “I thought monies were being deducted but they wernt as i am now £18,000 in arrears”? Surely you looked at your payslip and could see whether or not money was being taken.

Do not take these arrears at face value. Have a look at what you were actually what your assessment was and what you were actually paying. Have you been working all these years or were you out of work for some of the time. I suspect the arrears are incorrect. So write back (do not phone) saying that as you were paying all these years the arrears a clearly incorrect and that they must supply full details as to each assessment made and how the arrears are made up. Give them fourteen days to reply.

And, write to the CSA in Longbenton, address below, and ask them to send copies of all computer and clerical records as required under section 7(1) of the Data Protection Act 1998. Ask them to include copies of all letters, notes and emails etc, especially those from each of their branches including Hastings, Plymouth, Newcastle, Birmingham and Belfast and also copies of all letters, notes and emails to/from the CSA’s debt collectors and solicitors. Also ask them to ensure that the notepad sections of the computer files are properly dated. Enclose a postal order for £10. You will then receive in about a month’s time a complete copy of your file.

In the meantime if they make further threats against you, can you come join us on Facebook? CsaHell on Facebook is down at the moment so for the moment we are discussing problems on “Against the Csa” on Facebook, or if you need help with contact you can go to “Separated Dads” or “Dads with Kids”, both on Facebook.

  2. Last September I received a letter from the CSA informing me I was in arrears.
Checking through my paperwork (all files in date order and payments made by cheque) I worked out I was not.
Wrote a sharp worded letter to the CSA asking for proof as the arrears letter contradicts previous CSA letters.
    Demanded reply.
    That was six months ago.
Just received this years payment schedule.
    No arrears.
Will continue to pay by cheque.

So don’t accept any demand for arrears at face value.
    Check your records.
Pay by cheque if possible;that way YOU control what YOU pay.
File all CSA correspondence in date order.
Deal only by post NOT by telephone.
Replies to be sent by signed for post.

DON’T let the CSA beat you.
They are notorious at making mistakes and threatening and harassing PWCs.
If you discover they have made a mistake.
Go to your local media and then your MP.

    Be lucky!

  3. I fully support the above. I put everything in writing. I too am challenging so called arrears. They are scum.

  4. I know exactly what you are going through and unlike the previous article my ex partner was not so lucky.

Like you landed with a bill for £36,000 which he knew was totally fabricated. He fought this for 2 long years, no Solicitor, no MP, no Judge would would go against these horrible people. The Mother and the CSA are always right.

This amount was reduced to £29,000 admittedly when it went to court the Judge was horrified that they had calculated this so called debt since 2005. He was paying his ex wife maintenance based on his wages. By the way his ex wife was the same as your ex wife. She had affairs after affairs and he found out. He left with a black sack of his clothes and has always looked after his children but his ex wife would not leave us alone and told us that she would ‘sort us out’ her words.

He lost his house, they forced him to sell to pay this debt and nobody gave a shit about him. He was treated like a criminal. Not to mention I had been living at the house and also paid household bills etc but I never got any money back that I put into the property. I was told I would have to fight THEM in court to get my money back.

We had the sleepless nights, the stress, the arguments the pressure and it got too much that I could not take it anymore and we split up.

My ex partner was a wonderful man and to see how these animals destroyed his life and mine is unbelievable.

Try and stay strong, maybe your case will work out ok but unfortunately, for my ex partner he lost everything. How the hell is that suppose to help his children

Dont let them beat you its not worth it
