Now have to pay for my son until he is 20 years old?
After counting down the months to my sons 19th birthday this January, I have been today been informed of a change that now makes me liable to pay for him until he is 20 as he does 12 hours (full time apparently) in college and the fact that he has a job warming him £180 per week does net get taken into account.
Nor does it matter that he no longer lives with his mother and hasn’t done for well over a year yet she continues to take child benefit and my money.
THIS SYSTEM FAILS ON SO MANY COUNTS. IT IS THEFT.

So, what will they do about those from CSA inception, backdate everyones’ case so that they should have paid upto 20.
This MUST be a breach of Human rights, as it is unfair for some to have paid longer than others.
I have a 19 year old, who by his own confession is not living at home and is working. I have told these corruot theives, but they don’t want to hear it. They just want to screw more money out of me, for state benefits!
The sooner this lot are dragged through the courts and ruled against, the sooner its’ victims will will get retribution and compensation!
Mate I know where you are coming from they are a right bunch of dont give a monkeys about non resident parents, I thought I had paid and finished with the claim back in August and low and behold they send me a letter in November demanding another £3,500 for back dated arrears, right before Christmas not caring that I have to fork out for fuel to carry out my work duties putting stress on my present relationship. Told them that I will not even be able to give my daughter a present but they dont give a flying f***. It is criminal, we do not have any rights as long as they get those unlucky enough to be on there system so flaming frustrated even tried the europeon court of law but need a lawyer oh yes I can not afford that. ARGHHHHHHHHHHH
I want to see staff and executives in the dock, asap, and a ‘class action’ from thousands of their victims who they have attempted to criminalise and treat like shit, in order to get justice and compensation, for their failures!
Roger, please see other story on this from Richard, paying for son until 20. He is making a chalenge for maladministration for failing to inform parents of a change in age for payment.
Perhaps you could also see your M.P. and write in person to the DWP, and the PHSO (ombudsman). The more that cmplain with good grounds, the better the chance of making the f–k wits have it!

The CSA can do what they like. Human Rights doesn’t apply to them.
Yes any company/organisation would inform in writing any changes but not the CSA.
I have had a review back from the CSa reference my comments about maladministration and by the sounds of it, I have shaken them abit as my email has gone to the top. because they have not told us gents about the change, plus their website has incorrect statements, it may be difficult for them to apply the extension to 20 years old all due to maladministration, I have also contacted Mr duncan smith, but as yet being an MP he has not replied, I will keep battering them like they do me each month.
Oh PS, below is an extract from the house of commons email I received the other day, this statement my help too.
The new system of child maintenance is being introduced gradually, with only a few ‘pathfinder’ cases currently being transferred to the new scheme. Most maintenance cases will, for the time being, remain on their existing schemes, and cases that are close to ending will not be transferred at all.
I called them first thing this morning and told them about Richards findings and that I too would be taking legal action. They were very quiet and made a note of what I said. Something has to give in our favour at some point surely?
I wrote to Ian Duncan Smith as well and like yourself Richard, he has not replied. My complaint was the one size fits all calculation discriminates against low paid dads. Some dads are left juggling their bills on less than £200 per week after the CSA has dipped into their banks. They don’t care if dads are on the breadline as long as they pay up.
John thanks for that, reading all these comments just goes to show that they really need to take a long look at how things are done. I do not mind paying for my child even though his old enough to vote and get married but it is the ammount they are asking, and affecting the quality of life for my new partner and child, seems like they wont be happy untill I am homeless and single then they statr a new claim so I will be paying until I die and they will still take what is owed before my family can bury me.
I too have had the goal posts moved from finishing in February , when my son is 19 and still in education …… And what really fucks me off is the fact they didn’t have the decency to write to inform me of another year of financial misery. Richard – if your son no longer lives with his mother but she continues to claim CB it may be that she is doing so fraudulently, if he is at college and living in halls or rented accommodation so as to allow him to attend that college she may still be entitled to CB. If you believe that she is claiming CB fraudulently then you can report this to the CB office. If they find that she is and the CB claim is closed you can go back to CSA and they will close the case once they see CB no longer in payment.
The Govt published the age rise for CB and Child Support in the press.
Alice…because the thieving CSA that employs you, steals an excessive amount of my money every month, I can’t afford to buy a newspaper.
Recently my gas company wrote to me informing me of an increase in gas prices. Why don’t the CSA write to everyone, in particular the hard working NRP’s informing them they are going to stitch them up for even more money? Oh I forgot the CSA can do what they want, because they know they’re untouchable.

I am supposed to trawl though the press to find out that the government have moved the goalposts and will now be stealing £££££ off me to give to a woman who does not have our son living with her. It’s totally shambolic and in any other walk of life it would be called theft, but at least have the decency to write to us as individuals and even more so get your website updated!
Nice to know that they are rattled, and having to think about shafting us ‘payers’ again, instead of going the ones who do not pay or have never paid!.
Having recently reported my ex for child benefit fraud, in that she was claiming for a child who was not living at home. The child benefit office investigated it. However, I informed the CSA and they did not want to know. All they are innterested in is scamming money from nrp’s and attempting to criminalise those who do pay!
So, Alice your theory is shot down in flames. CSA are corrupt theives, embroiled in large scale fraud, with politicians!
John:- Have the CSA refused to close your case even though the child benefit is no longer in payment?
Or is it still in payment pending investigation prompted by you by the child benefit agency?
All entitlement to child maintenance ceases when child benefit stops.
This is a matter of law and not open to interpretation.
If you know payment of child benefit has ceased you need to appeal the decision to allow your case to remain open.
Thanks Wilf-: The CB office are investigating, but it is a foregone conclusion that CB is being claimed fraudulently by the mother, as my son has indicated on his social networking site that he no longer lives at home, and is working. His mother was caught out, over-claiming tax credits, is a compulsive liar and yet the government side with her and take her word for granted, at my expense.
I informed CSA and got the usual’ fob of’f letter, stating that they had looked at my case, nothing had changed and that I could take this info to a tribunal. having been to tribunals before, I know that they are rigged!
In view of this I have complained to CSA, as the case worker has not even bothered to contact the CB office (even though they have an informatiion gateway).
It appears, as usual they just want the money irregardless of the circumstances, and given my history of dealing with this shambolic lot (M.P. condemned them, PHSO condemned), I know what I am dealing with!

It is over 2 years since I have gone on this website as it has been 2 years of pure ‘bliss’ and freedom from getting the brown envelopes through out door. My partner was hounded for years had his house taken and had to pay a ‘so called’ arrears of over £30K to the CSA.
They want men to be left with nothing whilst the PWC gets the lot. I feel so sorry for you all becauase we were there and my partner almost took a nervous breakdown when they took everything from him.
Now we live outside of the UK and it is WONDERFUL!!!!!!
Lyn.. Lovely ending to your CSA hell. Ive still got 6 years of hell to go through from this odious organisation. Would have been five years but this month the age to pay maintenance was raised to twenty and the CSA didn’t even have the decency to write to the NRP’s informing them.
Just shows the utter contempt they show towards the NRP’s.
In this age of “customer satisfaction” ; use the NHS and a “customer satisfaction” letter drops through the letter box, or buy on the Internet or enquire to any large (or small) company and a “customer satisfaction questionnaire”is sent or you receive a “customer call back ” telephone call,often before the service or product has been received…….but not a “jot” from one of the biggest government agencies in the country!!!???
Why are we NRPs, and some PWCs, treated with such contempt , surely in this day and age a “courtesy” E – mail or letter explaining the changes and how one would be affected is not asking too much?? Lets face it CSA know everything about us, when we call “enter your N.I. Number so we can put you through….” (This takes a minimum of 3 attempts by which time the air is blue and the blood pressure is rising)..then once through to a “human” one has to repeat the whole farcical procedure and they wonder why we are agitated and argumentative???….then to confirm identity, they ask for address, contact number, E-mail address etc .
So there really is no excuse from this lot not to inform every one of us, and they might want to look at their customer relations and their mission, vision and values…..cos all companies, especially public ones drone on about mission, vision and values
Surely the amount of calls the CSA. Are receiving concerning this, and the discontent shown on here, must tell them they’ve fucked up yet again ???

The CSA do not inform and assume that you should know their rules that are biased and weighted towards PWC in most cases,
If they issued a statement annually of what is paid against what is due, like a bank or credit card statement then bogus arrears could not happen, However they are secretive and deceptive why is this?
why have a website that states functions and principles then deny they excist?
It is all very dodgy and breeds dis-trust on outset.
Received a letter yesterday. I asked them to look into the facts that our son no longer resides with his mother etc and I get asked for 2 recent wage slips so they can give her more money. HAPPY CHRISTMAS.

Totally gutted for you mate, my ex is threatening to ask for a “review”, cos lets be honest, another years money that last month she wasn’t entitled to, ( I refer to the age change from 19 to 20 if in education) at a higher rate, is rather an attractive option ,?…..bit like a pay rise!!!!
Report your ex to the DWP for benefit fraud, or the police cos fraud is fraud and still a criminal act .

Alice… Can you let me know what newspapers and when the government said the CSA maintenance would be going up from 19 to 20 years ? I will try to get backdated copies. If not I will try to get every paper from the Daily Star to the Daily Telegraph for the last year and try and find the information.

I too thought my CSA payments were going to finish in june but have now been told i have another year. I am trying to build a life with my new family but really struggle feels like im not allowed a life!!!!!
