Not seen my son for over 2 years

Me & my ex had a private maintenance agreement for 6 years, but becuase we split up shortly after my sons birth (& she was benifits) I breifly filrted with the CSA1 system…….& how I’ve come to regret it.

I’ve had no contact with my son now for over 2 years…..since my Ex went back to the CSA & said I had gone back on my maintenance agreement. From paying around £300 p/month (in Line with the CSA2 calculation) they decided my payment was £511 + arrears which had to be paid within 3 months. The DEO has now been in place for 18 months & this left me with no alternative but to leave work & seek employment with a more understanding & flexible pay structure………Not a decsion that I’ve took lightly after being with the company for 15 years.

The last 18 months have effected my health, left me in loads of debt, effected my relationship with my girlfriend & now forced me to leave work.

  1. Do you have any evidence you paid her? If so, copy it and send to the CSA. Even if its regular cash payments, did you get it from ATM? As even though not as good as cheque/ bacs or similar, but can try and get it accepted.

If she is on benefits, contact the benefit agency about it.

Do you know where your son is? If so or can find out, go through the court system to see him, you will get contact / visitation.

I understand about how this can effect your health etc., as it has for me too, (dif circumstances)

You dont say if you have complained, etc., Complaint in writing to the CSA, look on their website for details, then go to the ICE (Independent Case Examiner) go to your MP, whatever you send, copy it, send recorded delivery.

Please join our facebook group(s) i.e Child Support Agency Failings and sign the petition.

    Good Luck

  2. Hi Simon,

Had a maintenance assessment been calculated by the agency, for the period that your ex is stating you you did not make payment?
