My teenage son has been accused of being the father of child

Just wanted a bit of advice if possible. My son is 19 and has been accused of being the father of a 3 year old child. The mother has been blackmailing him into giving her money for the last year. They have never had a DNA test done and she is refusing to have one because she says the child looks like my son so therefore she knows it is his.

He has doubts and says that the mother herself was unsure and admitted it could be my sons or another male. I was unaware my son was giving her any money at all. He said he was frightened as she said she would go to CSA.

I was completely unaware of anything until last night when she turned up at our house. She didnt inform my son he might be the father until a year ago and the child is now 3. What do we do? My son wants nothing to do with the child and neither do I. Of course if he is the father then he will have to assume financial responsibility but he is 19 and about to go away to university.

Please help.

  1. Tell her to go through the csa, she can’t refuse a DNA test that way, but you must fully communicate with them, demand a DNA test via recorded letter and keep the receipt and copy of the letter….if she refuses a DNA via the csa then the case is closed. Tell your son to stop giving her money as this will look like he’s accepted parentage.

I’m pretty sure you can get legal advice to push for a DNA through the courts if csa are not yet involvef, its not fair to the child to not know who their father is.

  2. Get a DNA test done to prove the fatherhood.
The result would be proof and be legally binding.
‘she (the mother) says the child looks like my son so therefore she knows it is his’ would not stand up in court.
