My mum uses the CSA to fund her lifestyle
I am 17 years old and currently studying and working. My mum completely abuses the system. She is living with her new husband and 2 kids i feel she just uses my csa money to pay for holidays, clothes and cars. My dad is lucky and hes not been bled dry but its totally unacceptable, i cant go on holiday because he cant afford for me to come along. My csa money pays for my half brother and sisters child care – HOW DOES THAT WORK?.
My mum makes jokes about the fact that ‘she will enjoy that money’ and ‘you can only have £20 a month for your dinner money.’
I would be fine with that but when shes getting £700 a month off my dad and im buying EVERYTHING FOR MYSELF its irritating. I hate living with her. HOW CAN I STOP HER BEING A GREEDY BITCH!!!

If your working and in education,is there anyway you can go and live with your dad.Its the child benefit that your mum claims for you that makes your dad pay the CSA.Unfortunatly no one can tell your mum how to spend the money she gets from the NRP.If your working over 24 hours i think your mum shouldnt be getting any benefits for you, talk with an advisor at your college and see what advice they can give you,Good Luck
I agree with Alice. Is there anyway you can move in with your dad and then once the CSA sort that out your dad could then claim maintenance from your mum?
That is an awful lot of money that your dad has to pay.
he lives too far away, it would mean leaving my college, work and long term boyfriend and i really dont want to do that. 🙁 such a shame, my dads going to end up paying all through university, but i wont even be living with her and im going to leave in debt :l
Megan,
£161.50 ish a week is a huge amount maintenance for one child.
Has your mum told you that she gets £700 a month and could it include arrears?
Current legislation provides for further not higher education.

Your dad wont have to pay through university, well not to your mother anyway.CS stops through the CSA at 19 years,so your dad if he wanted can pay you pocket money while you are away. Its happening with us this year and the ex is fuming because maintenance is stopping. The only way it would continue to your mum is if arrears are involved.Anyway if you dont live with the PWC ,then no monies get paid.If your working ring child benefit to see if your mum should still be collecting this money with you working.
