My kids don’t get a penny of what I pay
I am seperated from my wife but have always supported my children giving them money when they needed. If they needed to go on holiday I would pay for them. However, my wife has now gone through the CSA route, who have now completed the calculations and I pay by direct debit. The problem is my kids still come to me for money as she refuses to give them any for example if they want a haircut, I pay for it. She has just bought a brand new car but will not give the kids a penny.
What can I do?
The CSA are extremely unhelpful as their action do help support children but seem to help ex wives. Any advice would be gratefuly recieved.

I agree with Ben. The CSA should do more to see where all this money is actually going and I bet in many cases they won’t see the children having any benefit from it. I have been paying my ex for 10 years now, my eldest son is now working so payments have reduced. My ex claims child benefit, housing benefit etc. etc. and he must get around £1500 a month which is fine if it’s genuine. Thing is, both my sons have actually been brought up by their nan (his Mum). She does all their washing and ironing, makes their packed lunches and they even go there for their evening meal and he doesn’t give her a penny. My youngest stays there every other weekend too as he can’t stand being with his dad. In fact the only thing that their dad provides is a bed, they now have to have a shower at their nans as they make the bathroom messy!!! So what am I paying for? I have to buy my sons clothes as he has none that fit. His nans buys his school uniform. If my monthly payment were going to her I would have no problem but they are feeding his habits and paying for stuff for his girlfriend and his other child with her, makes me so mad.
The CSA should really take note of this all these dads (and us mums too) who have to work hard and constantly pay out with nothing left for ourselves, and should ensure that the money is being spent on the kids. It’s yet another government disgrace.
On a positive note, my Son want’s to live with me and is planning to leave home soon. I will not be chasing the ex for money through the CSA – I wouldn’t sink so low 😉
