My friend shouldn’t have to pay as his daughter isn’t working or in education

I have a male friend whose been seperated from his wife for four years. He has a child of 18yrs old who he pays csa for at approx £70 a week, even though she isn’t in full time non advanced education or workin she is infact doin nothin.

He pays the money and gives her money weekly as she’s asks and is also payin his estranged wifes debts. The csa passes all on to the child benefit agengy who ignore all what he says even though he shouldn’t be payin as his daughter isn’t in eduaction

  1. I am guessing at some point his daughter signed up for college. As the father he may have the right to write to the college asking when his daughter ceased attending the college. Send the child benefit the letter and inform the dwp fraud department. Usually a free phone number

  2. My friends daughter did indeed sign up for sixth for but didn’t even do 1 say that was in 2012. He has wrote and called the csa and child benefit numerous times and sent letters but now they are sayin because she signed up for sixth form even though she didn’t attened ever her mom is entitled to a 20 week run on and because in the december 2012 after sittin at home for months doin nothin she registered for connections and did a couse for 5 weeks which she didn’t finish but because she signed up for it her mom was entitled to another 20 wk run on and from Feburary 2013 to August 2013 she did noth again until she did a short princes trust course for a month which the child benefit said entitles her to another 20 week run on! So basically she can sign up for a course and not attend until she’s 20 and the law says she can. I find this disgustin as uni kids who get off their bums and do somethin with their lives are enititled to nothin its all the wrong way around

  3. So basically this child is taking places other people can take. Knowing she is not going to attend. I’m thinking she is being influenced by the mother ? Ok you need proof that she hasn’t attended these course. Hopefully by letter from the organisations themselfs.
The child benefit is issued on the pre tense that the child attends further education. If she is not attending a proportion of the courses then you have a fighting chance. Forget the csa and just concentrate on the child benefit
