My ex owes £4,500 but nothing is coming to us
Hi, I have and are still having major problems with the CSA.
I chased my ex husband for 6 yrs to make a payment. I finally got something concrete and it took another 18 months before i received anything? I have experienced the 90 day wait for change of circumstances twice! they have mis-allocated payments to someone else and now they have lost two months of payments in the black hole that is the CSA system.
I have had my local MP Mark Lancaster’s office on the case and still no results. I am on the highest dose anti-depressants that are prescribed, I cannot sleep, I am going to miss my rent payment this month as we have no money once again because of the farce of an organisation that is the CSA.
My ex husband has a attatchment of earnings so the money is taken before he receives his wages and yet the CSA have lost 2 months of this, his wage slip shows the de-ductions, so where does the money go? I as many others are beyond frustrated, crying daily and trying to bring two children up single handed.
I am in shock that such mental cruelty is allowed to continue, it’s not just about the money it’s about the way you get passed around and told quote ‘ You shouldn’t rely on the money anyway’ by some individual who obviously has no children to care for. We as the parent with care have the whole responsibility to bring these children up in society as we see fit and to the best of our ability and we do this no matter how hard things get.
Oh just to mention Christmas 2012 our payment was lost again, due 12th December finally arrived 31st December, Christmas was ruined thanks once again to the CSA. I am sat waiting again for a call back from the MP’s office at the CSA, still nothing? I am calling a solicitor on Monday to try and resolve my issues and if no luck I am going to the press and anyone else in my situation should do the same.
We are the innocent party in all of this, do they not think a break up is hard enough for these kids to deal with without all this mindless incompetence to contend with as well? My ex husband now has over 4,500 pound arrears that is not being passed to us and not reducing as they are taking the maximum from him? Good luck to everyone in my situation and this has to stop somewhere it really is mental cruelty and effects my life every day.

Welcome to.the world of the wonderful csa, you opened the can of worms and they will slowly destroy your family, if your ex was to lose hos job you would get nothing, never rely on this money, why not ask for a.private arrangement, solicitors wont help you, nor will.your mp, they dont help either, because you get tax credits and benefits etc you should budget, you only have yourself to blame for getting yourself into debt and expecting csa to help, the downward spiral of hell gets worse, been there done that

If its not too late, speak to your ex. Try not to involve the CSA, as they will ruin your lives in criminalising and demonising you.
Sort it between yourselves. The CSA work for bonuses and you will both become yet more statistics for them and their company, keeping them in their jobs and gold plated pensions.

Get a job and pay for yourself rather than relying on hand outs!!!!!!
Just a short note Lisa and her comment on my post? I state I am NOT in debt and do not receive benefits, unfair of you to judge I think. My rent is due as I stated and I am a single parent, not in a relationship and I am providing the very best care and support for my two children. I am not in this situation because of my mistakes in life, I had a husband that screwed around and I have more self respect than to continue in a false marriage.
Obviously unlike yourself I do try and not take my anger and frustration out on the rest of the world and try my very best to battle the issues that arise with the CSA. I found it both sad and helpful to read the experiences of other people on here, not just the ones that are not getting paid but the poor parents that cannot get extortionate amounts reduced.
I found your comment both rude and childish and not really helpful to anyone except your own ego? Does sound as though you may work for the CSA, you have the right temperament.

Hi Elizabeth – when Karen says ‘adult’ she means ‘morally wrong’…. she is as bad as the CSA, she is a bitter, jealous PWC….
As John says, if there is any way you can speak with your ex to come to a private arrangement you should do so… the CSA are not interested in you or the child(ren) involved…
I would also suggest you speak with your local MP and contact NACSA (or have a look at their website) as you need to get to the bottom of this… for your own sanity… good luck!
What I should have said is the csa are right in one respect, dont rely on it, you have cash flow coming in ie child benefit tax credits etc, if your struggling to pay rent its a.poor do, I got not a penny from my ex in.10 yrs, they call it budgetting and living within your means, I can tell you this is your ex makes a.complaint he will probably find the arrears are false, he will have them wiped, the csa should be ashamed for telling you he owes anything, maybe talk.to.your ex tell him your struggling, going down thw csa route you will be waiting forever and only your kids will suffer, thats the b all and end all of csa, they will turn you against each other and life will be miserable, join our group on facebook child support agency rip.offs, we can help people, I dont think its fair anybody using csa,
Benefits are tax credits as well as Income support, Council Tax and Housing benefit. Child benefit is standard to most. I think this is what Lisa meant by this. From what I have learned lately… a single parent with one child working 16 hrs on minimum wage rakes in the SAME amount per month in CTC, WTC, Child Ben, Housing and council tax benefit as someone working a 40 hour week in a very good job. Plus in these cases the PWC get to keep ALL CSA payments on top of this since the benefit disregard in 2010. Maybe you should take a look at the job and hours that you do in this case and you could be one of those people. It seems that your ex IS paying so its certainly a shame on him too, his money could well be lost in this system forever and that does not help any of you. Sit down and try to talk, get rid of the CSA for good! Good Luck!
@ Richie What are you on about? How is she waiting on “hand outs” when the guy should be contributing to his children’s upkeep!! Whilst the the storey is a bit overly dramatic its also disgusting that the CSA think its okay to mess up children’s Christmas. The CSA are useless, its an absolute disgrace
