My ex is threatening to tell the CSA that I should’ve paid more
Hi,
I split up from me ex 6 years ago, I have paid maintenance to her weekly from my bank to hers through no CSA. as well as buy him anything he needs, money isn’t an issue.
She has threatened to go the CSA saying when I changed jobs I should of paid more. It’s more of a threat as she wants me to sign the house over to her which I have keeper for her to live there with my son.
She pays the bills ect. I was just wondering out of curiosity how far back can she claim and go into my wages to check? I heard she could only claim from when she contacts the CSA but she was she can go back 3 years.
That’s fine either way I just wanted to know to work out finances ect for the future. As I now run another house with my partner and 2nd son and she’s off on maternity so just want to get finances sorted.

They will only go from the date she claims from. However saying that. The csa are idiots and will probably take over 12 months to sort the claim out. This making you in arrears. Which results in 40% of your net. The minute you get a letter of them stop paying your ex. If you play clever and don’t pay by direct debit or standing they will take payments into account. You do this by bank transfer to her account with the reference. Child maintenance.
Hopefully she won’t go to csa cause they really destroy what bit of dignity you have left

However, to add to what Adrian has said, be careful that she doesn’t go behind your back and contact the CSA … If she does and you continue to pay her privately you could end up paying twice..
CSA staff are liars and will believe everything the PWC tells them, even if you can prove otherwise….
I’d suggest you use the calculator on this website to help you find out how much you should pay her….. The amount the calculator specifies what you should give her for, food, clothing (including uniforms) a roof over their head etc so if she does go down the CSA route let her know that you will stop paying for all the extras you already pay for… Some PWCs are to greedy and stupid to see a good deal when it’s in front of them..
she sounds like a proper bitch. So my starting point will be contact cover your ass. by that i would at the least speak to a solicitor as for the other stuff well the above is spot on. good luck
