My ex husband has stopped paying the CSA

November 19, 2009

back in aug.. my ex husband decided that he was paying me to much maintanace direct and wanted to be reassesed, telling me he was no longer paying for the upkeep of his two kids.

then he contacted csa they stopped his direct court order from his wages straight away(because he was also having to pay for another child, but for years buried his head in the sand and did not pay them!!finally they threatened his parents going to court if he did not pay!!!plus 4years of arrears to me, maybe l should have heeded that as a warning he would try and do the same to me a few years down the line )

l contacted them in sept a number of times.. to find out what was going on, everytime getting fobbed off with someone will call you in the next five days… guess what NO PHONECALLS…this has carried on for the last few months!!! finally l get told on nov 14th that he has not paid a penny to them and niether to myself… and the csa has still not reassessed him all paperwork has now been moved to another department again!!

today 17th nov l called again… very unhelpful woman on the phone..wonder how she would feel if the shoe was on the other foot sarah!!!…the last 2 months payments l will not even recieve in arrears and its going to take them 6-8 weeks to sort out!!

l have contacted a solictor who told me that l could ask them to enforce a payment on him.. there answer to much paperwork!!

now my solictor has asked me to wait 5 days see if they contact me, if not then l contact them and ask about there complaints procedure!! and he will deal with them..

in the meantime my ex husband is still having full access to his kids..enjoying trips out with them. picturres kfc etc…while not paying his upkeep for them.

l am in a situation that l feel there is no where to turn..struggling to make ends meet.. and guess what my new husband is also paying for his two children direct no problems at all …. problem with all this CSA being no help at all.. and exhusbands thinking they can get away with non-payment..any ideas how l can sort this situation out!!

Don’t wait any longer, escalate your case to a complaint and send copies to your local MP asking for their intervention with the matter.

Good on you for not stopping the kids contact with their Dad. Sadly too many children fall foul to their parents arguments, which is not in their bests interests.
