My ex doesn’t have to pay a penny because he has two other children

I have had constant problems with the csa since 2004, i have now recieved a letter to say my ex partner does not have to pay anything – yes not even 1p.

They have said in the letter this is because he has 2 other children that he lives with with his new partner and they both work? it’s a very long story but i thought no matter what he has to contribute to his children ?? i am taking this letter to the CAB and also now going to get some legal advise.

  1. You say this a very long story, so there must be some important information you have not included.
If you dip sample the other posts on here, you will understand how the CSA operate and your ex partners current circumstances sounds like a bread and butter case that the CSA thrive on.
I suggest you send a letter recorded delivery to the complaints section, asking the reasons why he doesn’t have to any maintenance. Also email a copy of that letter to them as well as your MP. If not happy with the reasons, put another post on here and make an appointment to see your MP at one of the surgeries.

  2. I do not understand how your ex is getting away with this miniscule amount as my current partner who I have been with for 10 years (since his son was 3 months old) has recently been informed he has to pay 470 per month to CSA for his son from previous relationship and we have two children ourselves. He was able to see his son for the first 8 years of his sons life and he would stay with us every Friday – Sunday with my partner paying the mother directly.
However once we had our first child 2 years ago the relationship turned sour on the mothers part and she decided to get the csa involved lying to them saying my partner has not paid or had access for the past 8 years therefore the arrears which deduct 45% of his wages each month. The CSA have informed us they are not bothered about our two children because he doesn’t pay for them through the CSA and therefore will not take them into account. Absolutely disgusted by their approach, procedure and attitude of staff and think the reform in 2014 should be means tested on both sides instead of just the fathers salary to ensure no children in the UK are living in poverty.
