My CSA complaints are finally getting somewhere

November 4, 2015

My Csa claim has been going on for 8 years now…… 14 thousand pounds owing from my ex, Csa are basically rubbish, all they do is lie and make up excuses, all they’ve done is go round in circles, they took my ex to court once for a liability order of £1,800 of which he had to pay £25 a week then when that was paid he stopped paying it, so the weekly payments were still being added- reason for the amount of the arrears now, I wrote that many complaint letters that it’s finally gone to ICE……. I’m not sure how this will end up but it’s worth a try…. Any body else had ICE sort their Csa out? Any info will be great xx

    Hi,

I am basically on the other end of the foot. In the sense that I have been trying to get a complaint looked at with the CSA for a number of years also. I persued the matter with ICE and it was handled just as bad as the main CSA department handling everything. Eventually (and after not hearing anything) I contacted them and they said that the matter had been closed, they had forgotten to inform me of this.

The end result was that they said that they had done everything right (I was arguing that they were charging me too much). I still had not had a breakdown of how they were calculating the payments. I was at a standpoint with the matter, but instead of escelating it to MP level, I submitted a SAR (Subject Access Request) for all information. This showed me how they had calcultated the payments and showed that it was wrong!!! I contacted them again and they re-looked at it and agreed that I had overpaid! This took approx. 3 years!!!! After which I am exhausted!

However, despite overpaying by a considerable amount, I may not get it all back as they are closign the case in March 2016 and with all debts will be erased. There is no guarentee that those owed money will be reimbursed. Even though I am owed money I still make payments. I wonder what would happen if I refused to pay until the balance was rectified? Thoughts anyone?

Anyway, if you want to persue this, I recommend that you move fast as after March 2016 it won’t be looked at.

    Hope this helps.
