My 19-year-old daughter is not in education – how can I prove it?

Hi,

I’ve been paying csa now for a number of years for my daughter that refuses to see me. I thought payments would stop when she reaches 19 in Jan next year 2014 but think now it’s changed to 20. As long as her mother is claiming child benefit.

My issue is my daughter is not in education. I’ve sent many emails to DWP regarding fraud and getting no where. How can I prove she’s not in education. Or does it take a while for them to investigate.

  1. I posted this to an earlier question on this subject:-

Question? Has any non resident parent been given proof of what type of educational course that their paid for ‘child’ is on. No! because the CSA don’t want you to have written proof, in case the course that they are on does not conform to the prescribed course that enables the PWC to claim child benefit.

I have raised this with my M.P. as I am demanding evidence of the educational status, because I believe that I am about to be told lies, defrauded and scammed by the liars at the CSA. Non resident parents should be informed and given verifiable evidence by the DWP, in order that the educational course is valid and the educational status is true!

The other point that I have made is regarding student loans for a 19 year old at university. their parent/parents don’t get child benefit. The student obtains a loan and pays it back when they are in employment, at a certain earning level.

So, what makes it possible for the PWC for a 19 year old student who does not go to university, to claim child benefit. It smacks of entrapment by the CSA to keep those paying in the system, to screw more money out of them, whilst the CSA employees get their bonuses whilst fiddling their performance indicators.

This will blow the lid off their scam!

If I have to, I am heading for the courts regarding this. I will decide if I want to continue to support my child, not an a–eh–e at the CSA!

  2. CSA raised the CM age to 20 last December. They haven’t had the decency to inform the NRP’s.
CSA don’t investigate cases. Its just take take take from the NRP all the time.

  3. The point that I am trying to make is that, a 19 yr old student goes to University. They don’t get child benefit paid for them, they get a student loan. CSA involvement has finished.

A 19yr old who does not go to university, somehow qualifies for child benefit, then the CSA hound the nrp to reclaim child benefit for a 19 to 20 yr old.

It’s yet another CSA flawed system!

Child benefit should NOT be paid for a 19yr who is not at University!
